Ever had one of those days where your mind grows so num with certain bosses due to how bad the parties u run into are to the point u start screwing up easy mechs yourself?

Well that's me today trying to get my weekly loot from Alphascape as almost every o9s loot run for today was botched one way or another

The last party had us at a one percent wipe as the healers didn't top us off for the enrage earthquake debuff and we all died, after that my mind grew so num to the point that on the next and last pull I screwed up my placement

Granted that's entirely my fault and I own up to my mistake, but still when many screw ups happen it's only a matter of time before u eventually make a mistake urself unintentionally.

God I can't wait till the weekly cap on genesis tomestones is lefted in 4.56 so that I can augment my scaevan gears and I won't have to deal with chaos and midgardsormr shenanigans again

In Duty Finder: Levelling Copper Bell Mines Normal mode: the tank was probably a troll as he kept jumping around and not pulling and if he ever pulled he couldn´t keep aggro at all, so a DPS decided to take over as the "tank". At the first boss our supposed-to-be tank decided to AFK. I agree that part is boring as hell but Hey. Everything went well until the slime boss. Dude just kept standing in the AOEs - his gear must have been really bad too because he died to the first big bomb going off. "Healer why didn´t you heal?".... yeah, right.

On a more positive note: Random The Antitower DF group. The whole party did not lose more than 15% of their HP the whole run. I.was.surprised.and.bored.from.DPSing.so.much.

But you’re a healer! You’re supposed to be able to heal through one-shots!!!

I feel the Copper Bell pains. Rolled it a while back on my alt and the tank was intent on being... well, not a tank. No damage mitigation, no attempt whatsoever to hold aggro. Spent almost the entire time healing them and then they ran off in the middle of a pull and got themself killed.

I think some beginner tanks don't realize that they're a tank. I've had many...interesting experiences with sprouts as WARs. They probably see a giant axe and assume their role is to dish out as much damage as possible and nothing more. I can see where they'd make that connection if they're new but people really need to read their tooltips more.

I was pretty intimidated by SMN at first as well, but I've been playing the job for a bit over a year now and I still enjoy it. It does have its problems, like pet responsiveness as well as being difficult to recover from death as you mentioned (the REAL heartbreak is getting Bahamut out, but dying immediately after right before pressing that Akh Morn button, watching him fade away while you fall over dead). All in all though, it's pretty fun, and I like being a caster while having more mobility than BLM or RDM, plus you still get some res utility. The DPS you can put out while playing SMN is nothing to sneeze at either. I hope 5.0 can improve further on it. Also, I love the Dreadwyrm glam and it's so appropriate for SMN! I only wish the wings didn't clip through literally everything, otherwise I'd use it myself more often...

I'm a bit sad because I liked HW summoner, but bahamut just kind of over complicated the job for me.

I suppose I can understand that, though to be honest I didn't start playing until not long after Stormblood dropped so I'm not entirely familiar with how things used to be before that point.

I think I found a new low today in duty roulette.

Rolled leveling roulette, got Haukke Manor. Party comp was WAR, DRG, SMN and me on WHM. Tank said they were new to the instance and the drg was a returner. I proceed to lead them through the dungeon and partway to the first boss I realize the smn wasn't bothering with aetherflow or bane. They were single-target casting bio and miasma on every. Single. Mob. The rest of their rotation was Ruin > Ruin > Ruin > Drain > Addle after wasting bio and miasma casts.

I make mention that aetherflow and bane are part of their kit and smn rotations are reliant on them later on. Her response floored me.

    "What's Aetherflow and Bane?"

    You...I don't...what?!

After recovering from the shock, I then proceed to tell them they're the skills you get while leveling your previous class tree and finishing the arcanist quests, and to please use them. I seemingly get a nod from her and we continue...only for her to completely ignore the advice I gave her. I wanted to ask her again to use them, but then I realize my advice already fell on deaf ears.

We finish and I nope out of there fast.

Next party run put me in Garuda normal. Party comp was PLD, DRG, BLM, and me on WHM. I realize the pld tank's max hp is awful low for this level...and then realize they were wearing lvl 41 leather pieces here and there, lvl 32 dungeon head and hands, everything else on the right is below lvl 31. Everyone else seems up-to-date or is synced down. We engage and I run to the side to keep the rocks from breaking down early.

The pld tank immediately loses half of their hp to a Wicked Wheel. I felt my eyes bug out at that. It felt like every time I was curing, it was going nowhere. Finally we got to her transition phase and most of the party hides behind a rock...except for the tank. She almost gets one-shot and I'm spamming cure. She then gets the idea to stand outside of the safe zone and eat damage for a bit before bringing Garuda OVER TO ME. We both eat a Wicked Wheel to the face and she dies, leaving me to cure spam myself to keep myself alive long enough to raise her. The second I swiftcast raise her, I die from another Wheel to the face.

During this entire time the blm had not bothered to Mana Shift me and was spamming Fire 1 and Ice 1, and I had already used Lucid Dreaming twice. We wipe. For the first time on Garuda normal, I was in a group that actually wiped.

We get back up and get the echo buff, and even with THAT on, the pld tank is still eating a lot of damage from Wheels. Second time around we were able to beat Garuda, but I just...I'm at a loss of actually wiping on Garuda normal.

    I think I need a break.

This one is beyond your help. Only sleep can save her now.

When someone drops the meteor on the party during Ultima, the High Seraph because “I was busy raising someone and couldn’t move”. And then, when called out on killing half the raid to raise 1 person who died, “Man, Savage raiders are so annoying” before immediately bailing. Also, queue the string of “We cleared so who cares” comments. Really tired of the “we cleared so who cares if we messed up mechanics on every single boss” excuses.

Tank cleaving raid during Agrias: check.
3 (!!!) adds during the mini-boss before Thundergod Cid: check.
Someone running through the entire party with Crush Weapon in Thundergod Cid: check.
Tanks getting 5 vuln stacks in TGC: check.
Kill half the raid during Ultima: check.

Reset Tuesday Orbonne was like a Monday Night 1-hour Before Reset Orbonne.
