So while I switched to DRK out of desperation for a non-boring tank, I am REALLY looking forward to GUN. FF8 was one of my favorites (despite it's flaws) and the concept is much more interesting to me than either PLD or DRK.
Yeah. I probably will still main paladin because, well, I just like shields, but I'm really looking forward to this, and I'm glad they went for FF VIII style gunblades for it. And we got some Cloud animations with DRK, now we can get some Squall/Seifer stuff. THough I wonder how many people are gonna glam the squall sword and outfit when the collectors edition items come out.

Come to think of it do we know what the third fanfest item is? We got cloud's motorcycle, mini cloud...almost makes me wonder if they'd throw in a buster sword glam for DRK but I think they'll go for something everyone can use and not just one job.

    N-Nani!?!
(You are legit the first person I encounter who finds the DRK storyline sucking. Personally I find it the best story of all jobs.)

The first part was pretty good. 30-60. The 60-70 storyline was very "meh", which is what I meant kinda sucked. Sorry. >.<

I think the DRK storyline's pretty decent... for a video game. Let's be real, the job storyline isn't amazing compared to better actualized means of storytelling.

50-60 was pretty bad. 30-50 was great, 60-70 was good.

I liked it all, 50-60 was definitely the least good though.

Gunbreaker first impressions are... It looked like PLD without a shield. Need to see more / play it.

Jobs have personal LB meters. They're called Enochian/Blood of the Dragon, Ninki, Kenki, etc. They're job gauges that passively build through using your rotations, that pay off with powerful attacks. Literally the definition of what a Limit Break is. I don't see why people are still clamoring for Limit Breaks when we have Nastrond, Foul, Midare Setsugekka, Bhavacakra. These are powerful skills locked behind gauges, and almost every job has something like it. For those that don't, consider extremely powerful skills like Hallowed Ground and Benediction as their limit breaks, as they are on long cooldowns and allow you to completely mitigate all damage/fully heal instantly with no MP, etc, except instead of building them up, they're available at the start but have long recasts.

I don't know if they will get a skill named "Renzokuken". It might just be called Chain Slash, because that's what Renzokuken means in Japanese. If you play FFVII you know that almost all limit breaks are named in English, except Renzokuken, which sort of makes it seem like a localization mistake they made back in 1998 but decided to keep because it was the 90's and Japanese sounding attacks sound cool. I say this because Zack has a Limit Break in FF7:CC called "Chain Slash", which in Japanese is Renzokuzan, yet the localization team decided to translate it in English fully. It remains to be seen however if Koji will have it translated (if GNB even gets a similar skill), because Japanese-themed jobs got to keep their Japanese-named skills (Chimatsuri=Bloodfest, Meikyo Shusui=Clear Tranquil), so I doubt GNB's Chain Slash would retain Renzokuken, if not only as a reference to poorly localized FF8en.

I wasn't a fan of the SB DRK story for SB. Partly because of execution. I mean

if you want to guilt me about all the people I kill, maybe the Warriors of Darkness, who I did not kill and am not responsible for their home being messed up, the Heavens' Ward...and FREAKING ILBERD are not examples you should trot out?

Still, at least we were sort of doing something? PLD stories have been downhill for me. 30 to 50 was okay, but not great. HW took the moral of the sword not being important and threw that out by giving us a convoluted ploy to not only retrieve the sword but get it to shine again, and SB had a tournament arc with no meaningful stakes or reward or anything. It was a decent gladiator story sequel I guess but I'd much rather be out doing something than having a low tension tournament arc. I hope ShB has us doing some knight errantry as a free paladin or something.
