Maybe my tolerance level has gone down, or maybe I’m just running into more of the players that I typically try to avoid, but had to eat a penalty after 4 wipes in v10N today. Went in as a SAM and in two of those three wipes, I somehow ended up being the last person standing, and in the other two, was the second-to-last.
Everything that could’ve gone wrong in these runs did, all of them in the same party for the most part.
Tanks eating a Mustard Bomb to the face without mitigating it? Check.
A minimum of 4 players constantly eating the Larboard/Starboards every single time? Check.
Players running into the middle and insta-dying during Level Checker? Check.
Needing to use an LB3 on Level Checker because DPS was so low and would not be cleared otherwise? Double check.
Nobody moving the tether after Mustard Bomb, hitting everyone with paralysis? Definite check.
Somebody else taking the tether and bringing it right back to the party after I take it to keep the party from getting hit? Oh, big check.
Good idea to take the penalty instead of risking a fifth wipe because nobody was able to adapt to it? Yup, I’ll take that.
Did Monestary earlier this evening..evening runs are bad I know but didnt fee like playing sooner. Too keep this short and the too the point group A was complete fail, they were dying on every boss the entire group. Their tank was mouthy and rude just a general pain in the rear for the whole raid. We made it to thunder god cid by this point group B who I was part of and group C knew we were not going to make Ultima. We were right Group A got wiped out about 3 minutes into the fight with Cid. A little spat between group A's tank and one of my fellow party members broke out as all of group B just up and left including myself. Did a second run we got to cid everything with my group had been solid to this point, we go too do our first pull and our tank is standing with the wrong group. We get hit with doom, instead of helping me heal everyone my co-healer runs off to try and save our tank *facepalm* we wipe. Kill him on the second try but with a lot of flops and even more on Ultima as we lose my co-healer and one of the groups pull I do my best too keep everyone alive. We get to Ultima's second phase with my new co-healer now finally able to enter the frey and I get a pat on the back from my fellow party members for busting my rear trying to keep them alive during the first phase.

...The heck are these Warriors doing? The only thing that's ever taken aggro off me mid-pull in SB expert roulette is a Black Mage going *single target* ham on something while I'm still pulling more (unless I miss an Overpower on something, but that's usually quickly fixed).According to my WHM main friend, some tanks take offense to Holy Spam. I don't know if it disrupts their aggro lead or outright yanks it but she's been both told and shirked for it so she only really does it when our tank is tanking. Me, on the other hand reserve Thin Air and the spell speed buff (i can never remember ability names) specifically for that. *shrugs*
And Warriors whining about losing Vengeance DPS because of the Holy spam need to get their heads out of their asses. It's 55 potency a hit per enemy, Holy does a variety of 200 to 100 potency. That seems hardly even comparable. Personal DPS is irrelevant, what matters is group damage.
(EDIT: Ran a little extra test, and even the Delliverance Vengeance hits from an i393 WAR with an i390 weapon do less than half of what the lowest damage Holy hits [the ones that happen to sixth enemy and onward] from an i374 with an i360 weapon WHM do.)

So today I am pretty certain that I was booted from a party so their machinist friend wouldn't have any competition in his rolls for the Balthier shirt. Here is why I believe this. It started with me and another bard. By the end of the first boss I do not think that enough time had passed or perhaps not everyone rolled, but after the second boss the first bard was kicked. I believe what saved me is that the third boss was pulled bc I dont think you can votekick during battle. Tell me if i am wrong here. Another bard joins us. After fight and loot is rolled on they are also vote kicked and then I am. Five ppl were from sargantarnas. Did mechs. Dps wasnt bad. What do you think?
I would say there is a fair chance that is what happened...especially if that other bard had just joined and got kicked almost right away after the fight and they weren't messing up every half heart beat.So today I am pretty certain that I was booted from a party so their machinist friend wouldn't have any competition in his rolls for the Balthier shirt. I'd be freaking furious if that happened to me, because I don't actually need anything from Orbonne. Unless they really think someone with an Omega coat is trying to get it purely for glamour reasons. So today I am pretty certain that I was booted from a party so their machinist friend wouldn't have any competition in his rolls for the Balthier shirt. Would it kill people to freaking ask? Then again, the act of kicking people over loot that might not even drop is already awful as is.
You say they were from Sargatanas though? I am mildly interested in knowing who they are, although chances are there's no way to figure that out now.
"Consider this old adage: When a Bard sings alone in a desert, and no one is around to hear him... Is he truly singing?"
The first bard to get kicked was our best dps and our new bard I'll admit was lacking. But our party should have been considered a success considering that there was no wipes and our group finished the dps check by a fair margin.
So if you can't kick during a fight here's my horror story. I and two other bards were kicked over glamour while I was there for ilvls. I already have a 390 shirt so I didn't even want it.
It's against the rules to reveal that, I think. And while I'm pissed, I don't believe in witch hunts. Karma will hit them... eventually.
Did you remember what reasons were given for the vote kicks of the other two people? You could try reporting them, especially if they're from the same FC.So today I am pretty certain that I was booted from a party so their machinist friend wouldn't have any competition in his rolls for the Balthier shirt.
