A Bard in Ironworks at Saint's Mocianne is kinda hard to heal.

Specially Bards that like to stand close to tanks and do not move from obvious "dude, move." Attacks like the first boss and his lil guys "breath turning attack."
I mean, i do not main a healer, but man... Makes me wonder, who is playing these characters sometimes. Mind you, is not like this is Sastasha, or Brayflox, damn, even Praetorium days. This is level 60 content.

The skip potions are the most cancerous addition to this game so far.

To be fair, if they had Ironworks on, it wasn't a skip potion - they would have gotten full Shire. It's more likely that you had a lazy/cheap player who already has a main and doesn't want to be bothered to gear up their alts.

So let me start this off by saying that I always take RDM on ALL levels of Alphascape (normal--I don't do Savage). Mostly because I'm not comfortable taking a healer yet but also because about 75% of the time I end up as off-heals or main heals or just constant back up healer and in about 25% of those I SAVE THE EFFING RAID.

Like in last night's run of Alphascape 4.

Qued in to a PiP with 5 minutes gone. Looks like people are having connectivity issues and at least one person is vote-kicked for being offline right when I port in. Another goes offline right after and is vote-kicked after a bit. It's obvious this group is ready to go, even though the healer we just got is saying they didn't mean to que for this. He's a good sport though and we start. Things go... not exactly smoothly. I have to get the same two dps up repeatedly and people are randomly dying to badly-placed mechanics. Still, the DPS is pretty good and we get through the DPS check and into the final phase.

This is where things get a little hairy.

Our tank, who'd been chatty at the beginning dies to one of the tank busters. I don't know why but one of the healer's pick them up before I can. I continue to raise various dps and I notice the tank make a comment about 'you heal the RDM but not me'. I figure someone just made a mistake and don't really think about it until the tank is dead, again. I raise them and suddenly Omega-M is dead and Omega-F has way too much HP. She quickly mows us down. It's down to me and the chatty tank (I'm furiously dual-casting cure in between Laser Shower casts). One of the healers snaps 'I saw that, [expletive]'. I'm still not really looking at chat as I raise one healer, who dies almost instantly, then another who gets a heal off before dying again. The chatty-tank had been attacking Omega-F seriously at first but pretty much just auto attacks as he and various other people in the group start duking it out in chat (I think they shirked one of the healers after dying to auto-attacks from Omega--I can only assume, since they were PLD, that the healers kind of expected them to self-heal while they furiously tried to keep the party alive, and they either didn't have the MP or just didn't do it because...reasons).

She's down to like... 1 or 2%. I'm dangerously low on MP because of those two raises and I notice Fleche is off CD. I let it rip and she's dead (thanks Crit meld).\o/

The tank continues to blame the healers for dying to auto-attacks (and also dying after using CDs). Someone tells them to maybe not be in Sword Oath next time (which explains why they died to the Tank Buster earlier). I am VERY VERY tempted to say something because it was a shit run and the healers (and I) were busting our collective asses, but instead I just walk to the exit after my absolute garbage rolls, comm one of the healers, and walk away with 4 out of 7 comms for myself. (And my theme song playing in my head)

Reminds me of a Weeping City run back when it was still relevant, where it was just me (as BLM) and a Tank from another alliance and Forgall at 2%. We killed that ass. 0/\0

If they're in Ironworks gear, it won't have been a skip potion.

Were they actually doing anything? Or possibly someone lazy set to auto-follow you?

Either lazy or a troll ?

But the job skip potions are the worst additions to the game, so many player who don't know how to play those classes/jobs. Closely followed by the players who grind their jobs purely in PotD/HoH and have no idea how their classes tick ...

Yep. A skip potion decks you out in Shire gear. This might be someone that leveled from 50 to 60 in Ironworks gear?

I've also accidentally gone into instances in RP gear before but I notice really quickly and correct it when it happens.

I disagree. Those potions are a blessing in my case. I got too many alts to try to level the normal way. But their were bad lazy players before jump drinks so I don't think it's fair to blame the drinks when bad players who dont know things at endgame was always a thing.

Was making my way through Alexander raids(normal) because I never did them and ended up looking up guides on the last set because the mechanics were definitely less intuitive, but when I tried Heart of the Creator, it was just so so bad. I think it was like 5 new people, and I was playing as healer, they kept dying in packs 3-4 at a time. We got really close one time until those lines start forming and killed 6 of them and I freaking raised the ninja instead of the tank. >< Of course we didn't have LB3 either. A lot of it was my own fault so I just took the penalty and left. Ahh I'm so embarrassed.

Boy did I see my fair share of those.......

One time On Orbonne it was from a healer who kept pulling bosses hastly before everyone gathers and tanks have the chance to pull cuz the healer claims they have "work immediately after the raid" and they don't want to bite the penalty so they kept pulling and caused a wipe on every single boss as a result

we pulled through tho after rejecting two vote abandons by the same healer........and let me just say this is one of the instances where I'm glad I leveled my RDM cuz after that run of Orbonne I've encountered my fair share of bleh healers where I ended up being a party's unofficial healer instead of the actual healers themselves xD

Why, why why do tanks who have 0 knowledge of a single mechanic in Orbonne insist on MTing, to the point of provoking off other tanks? We had one today that crumpled under every single tankbuster, ate every single vuln, pulled other groups' adds, and absolutely could not stay alive until we vote kicked him after our Cid wipes.

I commend you for wanting to do your tankly duty but you're actually not if you're not following any of the mechanics. Do yourself a favour and take a backseat while you learn, or else ask for someone to explain the fights before pulling when there are only 10-12 people in the boss (also, please learn about countdowns, they make everybody's life easier.)
