I don't like the Au Ra males being so large, I'd like another pretty boy race. They can make them pretty in a different way than the girls, doesn't really matter to me as I like to have fun with both.

0/10 poor baitYa'll whining too much about male viera. As if anyone cares about the males. When you think about Viera you think: Female Amazonian Rabbits and Fran
Anybody who wants cute viera males or males in general are just part of a minority of those who know what they're getting into. As i stand my majority brothers and sisters of the TRUE Viera fans take up a simple creed.
"Give us Amazonian Rabbits like Fran or none at all

So long as they aren't miqo'te 3.0. If there's the tall, muscular-at-least-ish option I'll take it. I'm still salty about au'ra women and what happened to them from the concept, and it still bothers me they come up to like, what? The male versions' belly buttons? At least the xaela should've been strong, powerful warriors considering that's their entire culture. Raen coulda be the miqo'te 2.0 bait. Too bad it didn't happen.
From the text in-game sounded like one option will be more amazonian in nature, based off Fran, while the other will be smaller/cutsier. But I'm more at ease with Fran being present in the game, since I doubt SE would decide to rip apart visual consistency with a playable species.
I also doubt they'll be female only. They did away with that from the 1.0 -> 2.0 transition with miqo'te and rogaedyn, and already mentioned male viera in the same sense of them being rare/hard to find such as moonkeepers, and prior to them 1.0 was just "the males are super duper rare" anyway.
It'd be a strange step for them not to, considering it was one of the relics from 1.0 they got rid of immediately.

Funny thing about that.... my short Midlander is a similar height to a female Au Ra, and yesterday a male Au Ra player gave me a /hug - and the game used the "kneeling down" hug animation that I thought it only used from taller races to Lalafells.
So presumably the same thing would happen between a male and female Au Ra couple, which seems very odd as a character design choice they had full control over.
I care ik i am a minority but my concerns are just as valid as anyone else's and I most certainly do not need you to remind me of that. With that said male viera have never been depicted within any game they have been artist designs but ffxiv may be the 1st to actually include male viera within it's world rather than being a offscreen 'they exist' presence, with only drawings to go on which didn't stay true for au ra i am unease as to how they will be implemented and such an unease be hard to quell until we see a screenshot.Ya'll whining too much about male viera. Why do I feel like male Viera are basically going to be Roedaddy minions following them around?
Just out of curiosity, what makes fran or Viera amazonian? I don't care about what they actually are lore wise but if you showed a picture of viera to someone who didn't know her, I don't think strong or amazonian is the first thought. You mention you want a muscular option but all viera images I see are pretty scantly clad sexy girls. They are super thin and have no meat on em and don't look like something I would consider a warrior race based off appearance. So long as they aren't miqo'te 3.0. That happens mostly if the game thinks the one giving the hug is on higher ground than the person being hugged even if to our eyes they're at the same ground level or not enough of a height difference to have it matter.Funny thing about that.... my short Midlander is a similar height to a female Au Ra, and yesterday a male Au Ra player gave me a /hug - and the game used the "kneeling down" hug animation that I thought it only used from taller races to Lalafells.
