I don't know, but wasn't one of the big problems of the original FFXIV the fact that it based itself too much on how things were done in FFXI when the MMO market didn't care about that kind of game anymore?

I've never played FFXI so I can't relate to many of the old XI throw backs but if Eureka is supposed to be a throwback and BLU is supposed to be a throw back to XI then they've both failed pretty hard this expansion I don't see how having more XI content will help this game it only hinders it from what I see, since if this is a taste of what XI was it doesn't have any business being in XIV.
I am 100% positive I’m not in the minority here. I’m 100% certain it’s not “just me” either. The thing is, Final Fantasy XI was an objectively terrible game. The EXP Party system that players developed in response to the twin mechanics of "You lose EXP when you die" and "You have to be in a party to get anything accomplished" was quite possibly the most tedious, mind-numbing, and godawful experience ever placed in a video game. None of that was fun. It was fun in the same way a second job or an emotionally-needy long-distance girlfriend might be considered as such. You had to take the same approach to playing FFXI as you would to building a model ship, or writing a novel, just without any tangible results on the other end of it.
There is a big distinction between having fun doing an activity and putting up with doing an activity with the expectation that a reward would appear at the end of it. The Blue Mage skill grind, and Final Fantasy XI as a whole, are decidedly in the second category.
And even IF you personally have no issue putting up with the grind, there is nothing stopping you from practicing a little empathy for people who aren't. There is also nothing wrong with wanting the job to reach a place where it would actually be fun to play for everyone, instead of just you.
I am also 100% certain that the raid community that frequents and makes up the vast majority of the forum going is very much the ... much less than 1% of the player base.
I’m sorry you aren’t having fun but to support the 1% on content that’s specifically designed for the majority of the player base would be an injustice to not only myself because I actually enjoy BLU and raiding, and am 100% fine that it can’t raid, but also to the vast majority of the player base that doesn’t raid, and does enjoy BLU.
You are aware that less than 5% of the player base does raid content? And the forums are made up mostly of said player base?

There will never be a place where any job is fun to everyone. There will always be someone who doesn't like something when you're dealing with hundreds of thousands of different opinions about what makes a job fun.And even IF you personally have no issue putting up with the grind, there is nothing stopping you from practicing a little empathy for people who aren't. People have to accept not everything is intended to appeal to them personally. Try it. Decide if you like it. If you do, great. If you don't, move on to the things that you do like instead of trying to take something away from those who do enjoy it by getting it turned into what you personally want.
Also, you probably should review the definition of the word "objective".
Your attitude of, "It suits my needs so you need to be quiet", is the most toxic attitude you can possibly have.I am 100% positive I’m not in the minority here. I’m 100% certain it’s not “just me” either.

How do you know you aren't the minority? Have you talked to other people? Have you been in switch-farm parties that go forty or fifty attempts on one primal to have half the members leave as soon as they get the skill? Have you read the chat logs of players trying to get Overworld skills that can't because others in the area don't understand how the learning mechanic works and simply burn down the mobs as fast as possible when they spawn?
Most importantly, have you already completed your Blue Mage spellbook? Because if so, I can guarantee you that your lack of empathy stems entirely from knowing that the problems other players have do not apply to you, and your belief that they never will.
No, it wasn't. It's a beloved title that is still actively supported in the present day - whereas many MMO's that came after it crashed and burned. If it wasn't for FFXI's success, FFXIV would likely never have been made - and it very likely would not have been remade after 1.0 proved to be a disaster.
Umm I never once said anything about people being quiet or implied it. I was in support of original post, and said I was having fun.
If having fun means I’m saying people complaining should hush means the same thing then I don’t even know where to start in a response to you.
Why'd you bring up raiding out of nowhere?I am 100% positive I’m not in the minority here. I’m 100% certain it’s not “just me” either.

Neither are representations of the way anything worked in XI for better or worse. They're just references like the Crystal Tower is a reference to III or the Floating Continent is a reference to VI.I've never played FFXI so I can't relate to many of the old XI throw backs but if Eureka is supposed to be a throwback and BLU is supposed to be a throw back to XI then they've both failed pretty hard this expansion I don't see how having more XI content will help this game it only hinders it from what I see, since if this is a taste of what XI was it doesn't have any business being in XIV.
The hate for XI here from people who apparently played it for a week or not at all is ridiculous.
Cool that you quote someone and write something that doesn't have to do anything with what the quoted person wrote.I am 100% positive I’m not in the minority here. I’m 100% certain it’s not “just me” either.

This post had nothing to do with raiders at all just like your "majority" of the playerbase 100% doesn't like to play stuff that can only do things in PF or solo.
You people need to stop turn every criticism into a raider topic.
