Cid is a pretty easy and simple fight, the only things really that justifies explaining is him having 3(technically 4) different versions T.G. Holy Blade, and his Crush Armor tether...

Everything else is old mechanics, some from Ozma and some from Rabanastre, which people who are at the Monastery have had to do.

And people should be able to pay attention to other party members enough to see them moving close or away from the boss, or off a platform.

Only been on them once and got to the repeat and we had a kick of a guy that according to their party wanted to be carried. My group I feel had a blm who wanted to be as well as they kept on dying to the same stuff throughout the whole run. Course the party that did the kick also seemed to have a rough time staying alive before the add phase. Vote abandoned when it was about 36mins left and the party that was playing musical chairs with their dps wasn't getting any more new members.

id just chalk it up to bad attitudes tbh. Ive noticed some attitudes in 24 mans in recent days. I think people are too used to breezing the old ones so much they forgot what its like to have a real difficult one. Some tanks are even trying to speed run Ridorana with new players in tow which is ridiculous. Theyre gonna have to learn new 24 mans take time to learn and the difficulty is part of the fun. Theyll get easier in time but the first few weeks were gonna struggle just to clear. WoD was like this back in 2.5, DunS was like this back in 3.5 and this is our equivalent in 4.5. Keep at it, youll get it. If not then Im half thinking just to try to put my own alliance in PF who is up to run all the way through no VAs. ( I hope thats doable ). Just gotta keep at it tho and report anyone who does unjust kicking. its the first day and week. There will be salt, there is always salt.

That being said on a personal note I didnt feel salty at all the whole time and I only got to the third boss and i was having so much fun I didnt even care about wiping all 5 times. Got the mechanics down mostly til the ice part. But damn what a ride. Most fun Ive had in 24 mans in ages.

My group was mostly chill about it aside from expressing some annoyance, got the raid done on my first run, but I will admit the third boss held us up more than anyone.

It's just luck of the draw, sometimes you'll get good players, sometimes you'll get bad ones. Sometimes people are 100% chill and understanding, sometimes....not. I almost didn't do it for the first week just because I know how it usually is, but.....Fran

***Don't spend 10 minutes explaining a fight BEFORE the first pull. It's so dumb and counterproductive.***

I got the clear and loot my first attempt, patch day, before sunrise with 40 minutes to spare in the raid.

    With that being said...

Later in the afternoon I helped friends get theirs. The BIGGEST drop in quality of play leading to abandons I've noticed were from the healers.

Players dodging every mechanic and performing them correctly only to die from unavoidable and raid wide AoEs. Why rez a player and then leave em with little HP only to die again the from doing the next mechanic properly or the next raid wide AoE?

Cohealer and RDMs are out of MP and dead but we have a full LB3, "Heal LB3" I said, but healer elects to instead hard cast rezzes as if to say "We don't need to"... it's almost as if they didn't know a LB3 recovers MP too hmmm. Rez, dead, rez, dead, rez, dead, wipe.

Why? Pug healer runs Ridorana and only had to throw out a medica or two every minute. Tries to run Orbonne with that same mentality and it causes wipes.

Those were my observations patch day at least. Happy raiding. See y'all next week.

Isn't that approach wrong? Such people wants be in a static than PUG the content.

If you had left in the first sentence of the post you quoted, you'd have my answer.

It's a rather long raid week 1. Unlike an 8-man static, pugs are usually a non-stop stream of wipe-pull-wipe-pull. After more than an hour, some players simply get fatigued. It would be like linking all the Alphascape bosses so you had to run them all in one go. Of course a week or two down the line we'll 1-2 shot everything and won't even think about it, but right now it's a lot.

I really enjoyed the raid itself and started with a very patient group, no complaints, everyone learning as they went and we got through the first 2 bosses fine, but the rot began to set in around the hour mark on boss 3. Someone switched the markers around incorrectly, someone else accidentally pulled, the raid wiped, some random starts grumbling at people to focus and throwing out vote-abandons and motivation just plummets.

Definitely looking forward to going in again, but people need to treat it as progression content and ease on the attitude. You aren't getting your half-hour 1 shot zerg for 390 loot this week. I'm glad we aren't, it's great fun having progression and a little challenge outside savage. Enjoy it while it lasts.

Why on earth should someone who cleared that earlier already in a static instead in a pug for that if they still need loot? Just because they are getting tired in their second or maybe even fifth run?
I mean its not that i'm for such a behaviour but your statement doesn't really make sense.

Not to forget that if everyone who knows that fight already would only que up premade, newbees would have even a lower chance to clear that content.

Hmm have not run across much rage nor seen anyone kicked. Worst I've seen was some people silently leaving during the third boss. I'm guessing because they couldn't deal with the mechanics or were impatient. Either way once they left we cleared the boss then quickly finished off the final boss. The raid isn't too hard, but because it's new people need to be patient while people learn the mechanics. In a couple weeks people will be complaining its too easy just watch.
