We complain about things that bother us that are ongoing and haven't been adjusted. If you're not interested in the topic (which is clearly stated in the thread title), you don't have to click on it. Or do you regularly look at a restaurant, see that it's a burger joint, walk in and ask why there are burgers on the menu?

So because we finally got just one of the dozens of outfits we've been begging for for years, it's obvious female characters should immediately have everything?

I actually agree with your main point, and hope we'll eventually get there, but they need to level out the playing field first. We don't even have the Thavnarian set available to males yet.

The only men wearing are midlander and roe npcs, so they had to model it for the rest of the males too. Why not go all the way through and model for the other female models?
    time and money.

They do this as a result of the spaghetti engine code leftover from 1.0 that they never did away with upon rebooting to 2.0 and at this point will likely never update or revise. The bunny outfit for males was the result of 3 years(supposedly) of the devs remodeling the outfit so it would fit to male bodies. I too wish the devs would stop doing this but as things are and as they’ve been it’s unlikely it’ll ever change.
Frankly, if an item can't be introduced without gender locking it, it shouldn't be introduced.

So we shouldn't have gear unique to different genders then? At all? I can't wait for a bunch of bland unisex gear!

No, people should be allowed to dress their character in whatever they want. I have a friend who really wants to put his male character in the maid outfit. I wouldn't put it on mine, but it doesn't hurt me in the slightest to allow him to do so. Hien's outfit would look great on a female character, as would Thancred's (the list goes on). I really want Y'shtola's boots on my character.

And if it offends you to have guys in dresses and girls in suits, that's a different issue altogether.

The gown should have been the female reward equavalent to the male's coat way back when. They shot themselves in the foot by making the male one unisex, and had to lock what should have been a unisex outfit behind a male lock to keep the #s of glams even this patch.

At least the new Raincoat isn’t gender-locked to either.

Not at all. There's absolutely nothing wrong with introducing gear that's designed for female characters or gear that's designed with male characters in mind. But there's also no reason why those pieces should be gender locked.
