You can always tell, when you look for the item on the market board, if there is a player's name under the item, it means someone crafted it. So it's not from a vendor. That's how I found most of it out, until Garlandtools finally updates >.<

It's not always from a vendor just because someone didn't craft it. Though SE did finally help people out with that by putting a "Shop Selling Price" on the item description.
