Here's a Burn run with yet another no-Holy White Mage...
This one not only refused to use a single Holy the entire dungeon, but also just stood there in AoEs doing literally nothing, and started giving back sass when asked to cast some. Like really, every Inner Release I use is basically 10 seconds during which I can stand in AoEs and STILL GAIN HEALTH from the HP drain. But nope none.

On the last pull of the dungeon, the White Mage started pestering the Summoner about Bane when all mobs were at about 5%. (*internal screaming about the 5% not even being there if Holy was used*) Summoner was out of Aetherflow anyways, and responded that he was prepping a full Bahamut burst for the boss, and that he knew what he was doing (which he clearly did, looking at the boss' HP sink at the start). White Mage apparently didn't believe this.

Once the boss was done, the White Mage slapped both me and the Summoner and then left immediately. :/

I asked the guy if he was serious and he told me the red mage could help keep him alive.

i.e. "I know I'm a burden to everyone, but I expect everyone to carry me because I'm the tank!"

I'm sorry, but if you want to unnecessarily put that much strain on your healer and expect a DPS to spend less time doing their actual job of, you know, actually dealing DPS then at least have the "decency" to put up a PF and see if anyone willingly wants to deal with that. You have literally no excuse otherwise being that low on gear in something as rough as Doma Castle. You have my sympathies for dealing with that, friend.

Just ran duty roulette on my alt as healer, and realized something was wrong.

Rolled Deepcroft normal, get the new person notice. Party comp was MRD, LNC, SMN, and me on WHM. I check all three out of curiosity. Tank's gear and level seemed reasonable, same with the lancer. However the second I check the smn, they immediately pull out topaz carbuncle. I pop Protect and the tank tells him topaz is a tank pet. No response. I tell them to use emerald carbuncle. Still no response. We get up to the first boss and I auto-translate for him to use emerald carbuncle, still no response.

Judging from the repeated broken cast rotation and stance jarring, I realized I found yet another potential bot (I've found 6 in roulettes this week, why). I relay it to the rest of the party that our smn was possibly a bot. Then the lancer seems to try to give them the benefit of the doubt. I told them to watch them as they were fighting mobs, as they were letting the pet do most of the work while popping dots on single mobs, followed by spam attempts at swiftcasting.

The lancer still tried to defend them until they realized they were only hitting the final boss while they were still invincible and hardly moved. When the boss finally died (dear god he was alive for far too long due to the smn just dot-spamming), the smn-bot just sat there for about 15 seconds before running for the exit. Not once did I see him cast Ruin.

While this still doesn't beat the mostly ARR-geared sam I had in the Aery that one time, I just...why do I find these things?

I'm kinda surprised you stuck with the SMN-bot (or was it ACN? could have been Egi-Glamour unless you saw how the pet acted) and didn't boot them. You informed them about the pet being a tank pet and saw they weren't functioning like a real human should.

Queued into a trial roulette as my nin and got Ravana. First thing off was that either tanks were reluctant to go into Tank stance to tank Rav. Then I noticed that one of 2 BLM has.... patch 2.2,2.3 HP. Entire fight was a mess with that BLM eating cleaves (he just stood there casting), ppl running amok with tethers, the MT killing DPS by doing a sudden 180 to reposition the boss...

I am pretty sure that more than half the party was new and they kept quiet-_-

Sounds about like my run of LoTA today. My party was good for the most part, other than a healer that kept dieing that I would have to raise as the SMN. I should have known it would be bad when the bone dragon was placed in south of the large area, not north of it causing mass death. Then at Behemoth, all stones placed on top of each other so only one place to avoid the meteor. I was on the other side and barely made it across, but 90% of the people were dead. Those of us alive finished the fight off as under 10% at that point. Then for the final boss, my party kept having another parties tank come to our pad and his party of course was getting mowed down.

Painful run, but no wipes. Where all three parties split went well, other than waiting on the other two to finish.

I was doing my Alphascapes as White Mage for a change, and on Omega I was with an AST that consistantly replaced all DPS AOE cards on me by an Ewer. I was sitting there, full Mana, DPSing, and they kept stripping me off Balances and Spears. I don't know how they even had so many Ewers.

Anyway, it just made me laugh.

I was unfortunately not party lead, so I really couldn't boot them. The pet was acting on automatic i.e. doing its equivalent of aggro comboing for 19 sync, and I think the other two just wanted to clear the dungeon. Though I think the only major benefit to the new players was that they saw a bot for the first time and might actually be able to tell the difference between a human and one-who-isn't-at-the-keyboard-but-still-playing.

And yes, they were indeed smn: the icon next to their name had the smn horn and they had the smn job stone on when I checked their gear.

Queued into Snowcloak in the ol' Mentor roulette last night. Cool cool, easy duty. It's weird that the tank left immediately though. 0 minutes in-progress? Weird. Nothing's dead, so they hadn't even done a single pull. Hmm, this stuff is dying slow, lets take a look at what's going on...

BLM is casting F3 repeatedly until out of MP, then B3 until full MP, even when I'm tanking 10 mobs.
"BLM do you need some pointers?"
"sure"
Oh, wow they're open to suggestions. I did not expect this.
"Don't just cast F3 and B3, those skills are pretty much only used to swap into Fire or Ice stance"
... oh great, now their rotation is F2 until out of MP even on single targets.
"No, no, F2 is really just an AOE spell, you should be doing something like F3 > F1 (until out of MP) > B3 > T3 > repeat"
Well, DPS improved a bit, but they don't seem to be spending their Firestarter procs. Geez, do I have to explain everything about your job? No. I will keep my mouth shut. Oh great, they're still not doing AOE on multiple mobs. No, no, I feel like my good will is spent, I dare not upset anyone by constantly nagging on their performance. We'll deal.

Now we're at boss 2. Everyone's just attacking the boss. Great great, yeah guys don't worry about the demon add or anything. I should've seen this coming since the bombs kept exploding in boss 1. I guess I should just be glad they're not killing the spriggans. Yeah, as the tank, I'll deal with killing the demon that doesn't obey the hate list so I have to run all around, while I'm also pointing the ice breath at the spriggans. Great, I just got the healer killed with an ice breath, and I'm too busy to type anything to explain. Great. We made it through, but it was ugly and I had to handle all the mechanics as the tank.

and then I notice... the RDM has been hard-casting all their Ver-spells instead of using jolt. Ughhhhhhhhhhhhh is everyone in my party garbage? At least they were using Scatter on AOE pulls, which is why I didn't notice before now. Whatever. Not going to risk being "that elitist guy" by telling them how to do their job too after telling the BLM what they were doing wrong. We'll deal.

Final boss. RDM and BLM don't seem to know mechanics and die repeatedly. After dying twice, the RDM returns for some stupid reason and just stands outside the battle arena staring at us as I slowly chip it down.

Holy shit, that was the worst dungeon I've had in years. I probably could've said more to help them, but it's always hard to know how many instructions to give before you're suddenly the bad guy who's telling them how to play their game.

You don't need to be party leader to boot someone in DF parties. All you need is a majority vote.
