5.0 New Game Plus — Let me re-level

No. I want new game plus so I can level SAM and RDM.

This new feature will be great if it allows EXP reward from the MSQ again, so you can use it to also level up alternate jobs!

New Game plus for me is being able to start at the beginning with all the stuff you unlocked available from the get go for the previous playthrough. All the skills, gear, mounts, dungeons, glamours, emotes, mount speed upgrades, etc, with all the MSQ resetting(with content unlocks already done). New game plus in an mmo? It would be cool if they did it like Dark Souls where you get stronger and stronger and every monster gets stronger and stronger with rewards increasing each playthrough.

That would probably require special new game plus servers to not break balance though lol.

So I am pretty sure it won't turn out like my wish. I guess a good reason for new game plus in an mmo if the above never happened. Is the ability to enter any content that normally had group restrictions was lifted so I could go help out a low level friend. Maybe there could be a merit point type system for doing all that stuff with other people, keeping all the lower level content more relevant.

But yeah if I still have to unlock everything then I will just roll an alt like I have been.

I'm not trying to damper on anyone's parade but I don't really get New Game+ to me this is an MMO and if you want to relive the story why not make an alt? If people like the OP are only worried about cosmetics then it's very particular on their end. I'm the weirdo that when I see an awesome moment from say the Drk storyline it's like "wow that's amazing I hope everyone gets to live this out" kinda like a one and done deal, something you got to experience through your own story.

I get people wanna re-live it but I just don't really see the big hype for it I know in some FF games mentioned above the New Game+ feature and that makes sense maybe I'm missing something because this is an MMO and I'd just make an alt if I wanted to do the story again.

To make an alt on the same server (with your friends) you have to pay a higher subscription fee to allow more than one character slot. I for one also want to relive the story as MY Warrior of Light and I can't do that with an alt. Doranaux Wavemet can't be the name of two different characters. An alt would also need to level up (which mind you, is what the OP is asking for) and that means you couldn't -just- relive the story, you'd also have to do some grinding. That grinding is wasted if its on a throwaway alt you've made just for the story. Making an alt also means you don't have your gil stockpile or vanity items that you might want to take part of.

I'd want this solely so I can unlock Dark Knight/Astrologian/Machinist/Samurai/Red Mage/Soldier/Dancer and set them to Lv1 to level them from that like God intended.

SE intended them to start at 30/50, there are no weapons with a lower level than that. As such you literally cannot start them at 1.

I don't see the problem with giving players the option to start over from level 1, but keep their houses (accessible again once they finish the level 10 quest) and their stuff. I like my current character, and want to replay the game using her. But I don't want to feel overpowered while I'm doing early quests. New Game+ should still feel like I'm starting a new game.

Final Fantasy X-2. You could use New Game + to start the story over from level one, but keep all your abilities, items, gear etc. XV also has NG+ now as well though not sure how that works as never utilised it.

Parasite Eve comes to mind too. Near the end of the game the player could choose a name for their favorite armor and favorite gun. When the game ended the player could then select "New Game" and both the armor and gun as well as anything the player put into the police station storage carried over to the next game at the start.

I only remembered it cos it was the only way I got through the Chrysler Building >_>

You still get level synced for a lot of the solo-instance quests at least as well as any dungeons you choose to queue for normally.

Save your character's appearance, Start a new character and load the appearance. You can always come back to your original character and have all your stuff.

I guess new game plus would be good for all the out of cutscene interactions, I always wondered what the other multi choice question responses were.

People want to redo certain quests and story lines without having to relevel. Some people don't want to waste time doing that. I have an ALT at 60 and I don't want to waste time leveling to 70 just to replay SB story line. It was a pain getting back to 60 when I wanted to redo the HW story. Now I will be able to redo any story line I want without slogging through hours of boring low level dungeons.
