Hyperbole is something people do when they to exaggerate their complaints more than they actually are. Usually such people don't realize it just makes them sound stupid and ignorant.

    What's a "stawman"?
Also do you realize you bringing up a 999 hours queue out of nowhere is in fact a strawman?
Also do you realize that such queue is only possible in either PvP or trying to get into Diadem?

Nice tangent. Now what does that have anything to do with the datacenter split?
For the so called "threat" why are you even attacking me in that manner when you got no clue on that reference? They are picking a fight, and I am asking Valkyrie_Lenneth to not to. It is a common theme of them to personally attack me in some way or trying to provoke me to post inappropriate responses for some reason.

Why are you telling me what a word means when you do not know what it means? That is not Hyperbole. The use here is an exaggerated statement not to be taken literately, basically I am not claiming their data center is not 1990s hardware, this should of been clear when I said oh should I have said from the 1970s would that been better? The meaning of my statement is simply this. The game feels like it is running on outdated hardware, whether the blame is just in the netcode, a combination of things, I do not exactly know the source or sources, but it shouldn't be outperformed by older games, even going back to original runescape who manages menus, housing, the market boards, so on, better. For example, why is moogle mail slow? it is still slow when in dead times, same with the GM menu. If I click on a GM message, exit that message, then go to reply to another, it will error till I close it out completely. Then to bring it up again, it takes a long time and sometimes it fails to load at all. These simple functions reflect the state on how well those data centers perform, and it is not very well.

I am not explaining the stawman thing to give you ammo to pick apart further away from the point. I am shocked as is I had to explain what the Hyperbole was to you, because you felt the need to add in insult to.

If you think what I said was a tangent, then you need to ask the original source for some clarification on that, hence why I said stawman to begin with. To further show your goal here is to simply attack me, not to debate the issue, I said 999 mins and 99 seconds, not hours, that queue being referenced totaled 25 hours. This meant it was tracked outside that queue wait timer since 999 mins is around 16 hours. The game display cap is 999 minutes and 99 seconds, there is no stawman there. The point was, if people can wait that long for PvP now, before this split, wth is going to happen AFTER?????????????? I can't help it when Valkyrie_Lenneth puts up the strawman they did, to get off that point and attack some fine detail that is not part of my argument, there I actually did explain strawman to you, even though I really did not want to, just ran that way. I disagree trying to dismiss that point with a safe space whine.

I will agree to the idea doing world visits before splitting the data centers would have the potential to make the ripping apart even worse, however this can be prevented by actually invest in the game more. Clear as day they don't, how many posts, comments, proofs do we need to hear of "SE takes FFXIV money to fund other projects" NO! for ONCE!! have FFXIV money fund FFXIV!!!!!

Except giving me a lesson on what hyperbole is (not needed btw) still doesn't make it not be a ridiculous hyperbole, that sounds poorly thought out and coming from someone completely uninformed. Also that mail problem sounds like bad connection as well

You're not explaining the "stawman" because you have a history of claiming "stawman" whenever you get defeated by someone's arguments and you have none of your own to counter with. It's just much easier to claim "stawman" and automatically win, like playing hide and seek with a childhood friend and saying they're cheating, because you don't like losing.

After the split, people are still going to wait for PvP like before. Because most of the playerbase just isn't interested in PvP whether it sucks or is the best PvP ever made. Don't know why you're bringing up PvP when most people are worried about dungeons and roulettes. Guess just so you can bring up the fabled 999 min queue you had there stored for using as ammunition

Adding New Servers is actually terrible for game life though (if its not done carefully or properly), especially when you have low-pop servers that exist in game already. It makes the game feel empty and playerless, and it causes people to quit. This is a proven thing that's happened with a ton of MMOs in the past - you don't want to just "add new servers" unless absolutely necessary.

Increasing the capacity of servers isn't as easy as just flipping a switch and making it a thing - server stability changes the more data is put onto them.

Not to mention that neither of these fixes the underlying problem: that the datacenters are crowded as a whole and stability issues have started to crop up because of this. The entire situation with Stormblood's launch and the instance server problems is to do with the datacenters becoming crowded - not just individual servers.

And you can't just make an entire datacenter with nothing but new servers because then there'd be literally zero established economy or playerbase on them. This was clearly a very difficult decision for Square Enix to make, and I'm sure its one they'd have preferred not to - but the fact of the matter is that NA and EU have stability issues because of how crowded their datacenters are.

How about I only reply to this statement and ignore the bold inserts? Because it does not flow well and I find it hard to follow, especially when you are just going to sit here making argumentative statements like "I didn't see any attacks or provocations on them. I did see you making a threat." You do not know the reference to that, that person knows exactly why they said that in that way, it is extremely argumentative and is not there in good faith, it is a simple request of suggesting not to do that anymore, there is no "threats" Commenting on this does nothing for this discussion anyway, you just want to attack my creditably for some reason, and not talk about the issues at hand here.

There is a difference of debating the subject itself, and making aggressive argumentative statements, and I am not going to respond to them no more. Also I do not even know you, you got like... 96 posts here, who are you to say I "always do something"? see why these statements of yours pose nothing for the discussion other then to be augmentative? Again this does nothing to discuss the real issue here.

Now that I am done dressing that, for the part of the post with a real point. Yes of course whatever they do will cost money, they are cutting corners with this change to spend as lest money as possible. To really address it would require putting more FFXIV's money into FFXIV, and we can't have that, SE wants FFXIV money to fund other projects.

Splitting off all these servers of a DC where the DC already has low population issues in select content at select times, and this change will only make that worse. There is less benefit and more loss with this change, like ohhh nice servers will not be unstable for the first 3 months of an expansion, then dead after that, low activity pfs, and who knows how this will snowball down to the duty finder queues. Keep in mind Balmung was completely opened in late SB, so why do that if they felt the need it would lead to this? makes no sense what so ever, so I am here posting my view why this situation was from servers not having better management.

How are you asking someone to stop by threatening them with "You are walking on thin ice"? I'm on the phone so the best way to reply is bold inserts. Whether you like it or not is none of my business. Not to mention you want to debate about the topic but when someone comes with good arguments, you instantly deflect with "That's a stawman. Invalid" when it's not.

So I'm not allowed to read people's posts without making posts of mine? Also for someone who has an account here since 2011, 700 posts seem too little. Maybe you also know little about matters to discuss them, according to your logic.
You also complain about personal attacks, yet you just made on me demeaning me for my low post count. Also what's being "augmentative"? You're the one augmenting your posts with exaggerated hyperbole and making things up.

Now that I am done dressing that, for the part of the post with a real point. Do you have any financial reports to state that they're cutting corners on the datacenter split, or are you just making up things in your advantage again?
Also, why are you complaining about Balmung having been open when several of your server mates complained that it being closed was killing off the server? Should SE have listened to you or them?
So you see, it's not just SE having the full responsibility. It's also the players who asked for it to open again, and the ones who transferred in, fully knowing it was still full.
But I see you're back to blaming SE for everything and absolving players of their part in this.

Your second line doesn't matter, regardless of tier, regardless of length, its 24 servers vs a lobby server. So no hypothetical here, go look at prices, inform yourself, most data centers are more than willing to answer questions to a potential customer.

Square has already likely already paid for infrastructure and manpower for this endeavor, and way before the announce, so the split is happening whether you all like it or not, there is no reverse now that they have it officially announced
