    I am wondering if it could be a temporary thing, they could later implement something where BLU must have X abilities before they can enter a raid/DF, and restrict some abilities that might be too powerful while in DF and Raids.

    I am curious as to how BLU would manage treasure maps and Uznair, would they be allowed to join those?

    EDIT: I forgot they had that level cap :/ Might be useful to bring a BLU along anyway if they can use Death on some of the mobs.

    "Wouldn't that just defeat the purpose of the skills?" No? I don't recall being able to cast death/doom on aeons in FFX and it works like that in other FF games, the skills' purpose is perfectly usable on susceptible enemies but to avoid too easy fights bosses and etc are often immune to skills that would make it too easy. It's a far, FAR better alternative to "Well how about you just can't fight them as Blue Mage at all!" Come on, you can't say that just making them immune to the OP skills isn't a better option.

    There are ways to balance things. You should be allowed to kick Blue Mages from your group who don't learn all of the abilities.

    Or they could make it like a normal job and have them learn spells as they level. Make them classic BLU spells (many of which are already in XIV). As "disappointing" as it might be not to be able to "learn" them out in the field, it's infinitely LESS disappointing then what we currently have: A class capped at level 50 that can't do any relevant content in the game.

    My understanding is that BLU will be allowed anything that doesn't use matchmaking with other players via duty finder. So, yes maps would be ok. The only issue with that is the level cap. We really need more information on how long will we need to wait to catch up with the proper level cap. Deep dungeon, roulettes, alliance raids, normal raids, are locked out. But, you can undersize party any duty because it is premade and you aren't matchmaking with anyone.

    I will tell that to the SAMs who are locked out of PFs, because exactly, it already happens. That was my exact point. So since it already happens, who cares? It won't always happen, them just straight up locking us out of the content is worse.

    "You need to get into a pre-made group to access the trials to learn these moves."

    Anyone else getting mixed messages, or think these guys are just making this stuff up as they go?

    To be fair...They can make BLU any way they want it to be.
    It's their game. It doesn't have to be 100% like it was in other games.
    Summoner is barely a summoner like other games, like, at all.
    Wasn't Dark Knight a DPS in FFXI?
    I also heard NIN was a Evasive tank.
    I don't like BLU or care for it to be added in the game I'm just saying
    it doesn't have to be like other games.

    They could always give blue mage two sets of skills.
    The first set would be normal skills like every other class, and can be used in raids and stuff.
    The second set of skills are the skills you learn from monsters, and can be used elsewhere.

    I guess we should make SAM a limited job too since it already gets locked out by people in PFs! Because that's the logic I'm hearing. See how absurd of an idea that is? Because that is what is actually happening with BLU. /eyeroll

    Oh they are scared that Death is going to kill most of the raid bosses? It's not like Repose/Sleep/Fluid Aura work on them either. Or it's not like Gravity halves the enemy HP. No excuses SE, make it work for duty and relevant content.
