Everything they have said about Blue Mage is absolutely 100% acceptable and perfect. Everyone kept crying for it now they got it and now just want to cry more. BLU is perfect this way.

Blue mage absolutely must be allowed into Duty Finder and Raids, there must be a way to balance it like they've done for jobs like Red Mage, Dark Knight, etc. While I like solo experiences, being locked out of the ease of Duty Finder and Deep Dungeons is annoying.
All they need to do is remove the restrictions on party content and yes, make it so death isn't usable on certain bosses.
I don't see the issue there - if you cast Death on certain bosses in other FF games, they would be immune. Just make them immune.
The combat in this game is not fun enough for the experience of leveling BLU and using it in the content available to it to actually be fun. The fun from the combat in this game comes from the mechanics of playing in relevant party content. It's an MMO, not a single player game.
"If an unprepared Blue Mage asks to join a party they'll be kicked." ... So? If you don't have high enough iLvl, you also need to get kicked. If you are a bad player and can't get a grip of the mechanics, you can get kicked. Players can be unprepared in a bunch of different ways, why should an unprepared Blue Mage be any different?
Why is the XIV dev team so afraid to let the players take some responsibility for themselves in this instance when it's expected of us elsewhere? If a player tries to do content without preparation, that's on them, let it be that way. We don't need to be coddled with these restrictions that make it totally impossible for us to do this content. What you've basically done with BLU is make a little kiddie playpen for us to go into that we can't come out of unless we change to something else.
By putting these restrictions on place all you do is harm the fun that players with an ounce of self responsibility would have when wanting to play BLU in endgame party content. It's just ridiculous, I'm sorry. We don't need to be babied and we don't need our hands held like this. This is the first time I've been this upset with the dev team in my 4 years of playing. I'm extremely disappointed and disheartened. The amount of work being put into BLU is crazy for it to be restricted like this, should've just been a balanced job and the job quests require you to learn skills from monsters instead of this pick and choose thing if you're just going to lock them out of so much content. Or, ideally, you let BLUs pick and choose like you are and just balance the skills.
I hope there's enough of an outcry on this for the devs to remove the restrictions they're putting on BLU and give the players the credit they deserve to take care of themselves when it comes to content. This couldn't be anymore disappointing as it stands right now. =(

This isnt 100% true, there is an issue with content compatibility (it shouldn't be able to raid, but I don't see why dungeons and PotD are excluded) and BLUs ultimate purpose. But it's implementation is good, and general theme as a piece of content we haven't seen before is exciting.
My theory is that we will see a lot of adjustments and improvements in 5.0 based on community feedback (no, it's not going to become a normal job) and that's why it's in 4.5 and not the expansion.
Tell that to the SAMs who have been locked out of PFs, and thats a job balanced for raiding. It's a poor excuse to give, but not an incorrect one, and that's before we talk about a job that would have white wind, mighty guard, and lots of other skills (more than any other job by far) to choose from. BLU would immediately be locked from parties or become mandatory, and that's why we can't have nice things

I support DF for Blu. I spent enough time in Jeuno in FFXI shouting for a leveling party, I don't feel like standing in Rhalger's Reach or w/e the 5.0 hub world is waiting for a pf to fill up to get a primal ability.
Pretty sure I remember people asking for BLU to be just like this searching for monsters and learning their skills.. why are people suddenly mad now? Did you really think you could take all these monster skills into raids? They even said years ago if they implement BLU it would be a solo job because if they did it any other way people would complain and say it doesn't feel like BLU. They could make it immune to the status effects but wouldn't that just defeat the point of the skills?
You are wrong and obviously can't look at the situation objectively if you think it's "100% acceptable and perfect".
Something to be aware of is not everyone mad about how BLU is wanted it to be this way.
If you're genuinely okay with BLU being locked out of most relevant content I don't know what to say to you. I don't think *anyone* wanted that. Whatever they had to do to BLU to make it playable in all the same content as the other jobs, it's a price worth paying as far as I'm concerned.
People saying BLU just won't work for DF or raids have no imagination or are purists. Monster skills can still work just fine for normal content. Are you legit telling me that if Bad Breath wasn't every status on a mob it isn't immune to + a dot is terrible and wouldn't work? That's just silly. Any normal of monster skills could be fit into a real rotation with the other skills being extra fun and fluff. It's already limiting how many skills can be used. Saying it can't be balanced when it clearly can is just cowardly.
Nothing they said on the stream convinced me that Blue Mage is not fit for the Duty Finder. I've had the unfortunate luck to be paired with Tanks and Healers who had access to all their skills, but simply couldn't play the Job at all. And I've known Players who lacked certain skills, yet played the job better than most randoms I encountered.
And if certain skills are simply broken, make the bosses immune to them.
