    Are pet jobs really that complex though? I mean at first they might be a little complicated to some players but once you get the majority of the job(s) down, it becomes second nature. I know some players can find BRD, BLM or AST complex so I don't think it's limited to just pet jobs but more down to what a player finds themselves feel fit that criteria you know.

    Considering what they've done to SMN in FF XIV...I'd rather they never attempt a pet class again. The Bahamut summon was a step in the right direction...but all the egis should look like the eikons they're meant to represent. And SMN shouldn't be playing like an Aflliction warlock from World of Warcraft.

    they can improve summoner if give the chance yet let hope they take time improve it, I do want beastmaster job that tame and fight along side of they pets

    I would love another pet class! I really don't care if in action the pets are exactly the same as egi or fairies as long as they are far more customizable in appearance. I'm tired of looking at Eos and Selene, I wish SCH got fairy glamours at that time.

    For BST the pet could just be like another weapon (that's all egi are, weapons "locked on" a target) and charge from our side and return. Or set up on the field and AOE shield for a while before returning to the player.

    I read a comment Yoshi P said at last years Fanfest in Japan about future pet jobs he would like tried one in future I guess more when they fix summoner at some point. I think we hope fix it. so all hope isn't lost for are fur friends and they beastmaster tamer friend

    I think part of the reason is holdover fears from FFXI where the dragoon class was near useless if their pet died in a fight as I'm told. I don't think he hates pet classes, I just don't think he knows if its even possible to put one in and make it work.

    Unless they changed some aspects of combat and a value/reason to solo, pet jobs in XIV are in-name-only. Other MMOs make the class and pet synergize together and able to work separately based on the situation whereas here, Carbuncle, Fairies, and Egis are just a flavor extension of their classes' abilities and not true entities of their own. Needing a variety of pets to fit different situations is a non-issue here because all the combat is the same (dodge dance and maximize DPS) there is no reward or consequence for using the "wrong" pet aside from a dps loss.

    A true pet class would require a change in thinking from the job team and a redesign of future/existing content to make it actually matter or work and that's why it's not a high priority at all from them.

    That was early in the game's life and has long since been corrected by making the wyvern have its own cooldown instead of being tied to the then-2hr ability as well as giving traits and abilities to the dragoon themselves to make them a solid DD job. Again it just requires a different way of designing a job that the devs currently aren't into doing as of right now.

    I'd love to see beastmaster in FFXIV, but with some improvements over SMN:
    • Easier execution and automation of companion skills.
    Assuming the beast functions like a fairy or egi, having skills that must be manually commanded. MCH's turret does it right (does not aggro when placed and automatically turns to fire your target). They vastly improved the fairies (much faster execution of skills; they do it immediately now, but for some ungodly reason, they omitted this nice change from SMN). Honestly, all they'd really need to do is tether the beast to you and tie their skills with yours (much like Wyrmwave with Demi-Bahamut).
    • Tied beast skills should function like other special class skills at minimum.
    Like SMN's Enkindle or Ahk Morn(SMN's skill that commands an egi to do a special), SCH's Fey Union.
    • A beast is not created from thin air, so there's no need for a "summon."
    You can call/whistle for it if a need to have it appear from somewhere else if absolutely necessary. Like egis and fairies and even the turrets, do not put this on an absurdly long cooldown, least we have FFXI's DRG folly committed again.
    • There is not an absolute need for multiple beasts.
    Tie the beasts to class quests if you must. I'd rather have one great functioning pet with egi glamours while the lore says this is your use of multiple beasts over niched beasts (IE: Garuda until Contagion was changed, now Ifrit-egi is the preferred summon).
    • The class does not need to be a mirror of ARC/SCH/SMN or other pet jobs from other MMOs.
    • Make the class melee.
    We have MCH, SCH and SMN - all ranged with companions.

    However, I'd long been under the impression that SMN that we have shouldn't function the way it does, being we control egis. I've long thought summons should have been like what Demi- Bahamut is - you channel certain skills and after enough gathered aether, you call that summon down for a short time, doing burst damage. AKA, exactly what you do for Demi-Bahamut and how it works, but with the other primals.

    Right now, all of the pets are too set-it-and-forget it because how bad movement is for them and how it also detracts from your DPS in such a DPS oriented game.
