If you are the kind of person who, at the last boss in Saint Mocianne's Arboretum Hard, moves the mud blob out of the green platforms on purpose while everyone tries to place it, I will find you and I will dump a mud bucket all over you.

How does the mud baby actually work? I've only been in that dungeon once, first week when I was unlocking it, and my party at the time had no idea what to do. Roulette keeps giving me The Burn :X
You attack the blob until its on a green platform then leave it the hell alone until it pops.
Basically if the mud baby gets hit by the mud pool when it rises from under the arena, or if the boss hits the baby, it gets bigger and does an arena wide AOE that can hurt quite a bit and inflict some debuffs.
So you have to hit it to put it on a green platform to cover it from the mud pool and make sure it doesn't get hit by the boss.
EDIT : Hey Rei how you doin friend ?
Its been a busy week/weekend and since im working all night tonight i know i wont get to cap tomes or finish any other weekly tasks if i dont do them this morning(servers will come down about half an hour before i get home tonight). And what did i find? Sometimes monday morning groups are just the best. Expert roulette? The Burn goes super smooth with only 3 deaths the whole run(healer and other DPS both die at the end of the 2nd boss by not paying attention to the saw blades - me and tank finish the fight no problem, other DPS dies during Misty to a puddle+roomwide combo shortly before the boss is finished). Level 70? Swallows Compass with 0 issues. Normal Raid? Alpha 3 that was not only a 1 shot, but a 1 shot with only a few deaths. When one guy said he didnt understand a particular mechanic(starboard/larboard), three players typed out quickie explanations while keeping their rotations live. The Alliance run was the most impressive though. Randomly assigned to Rabanasty, and its the first time ive run it in maybe a month. One or two new people, but i wonder if they didnt stack the deck with a group of ringers. Mateus went down so fast he was still summoning frogs when he died(0 screwups during the first ice-dance too). Hashbrowns went down just after he summoned the adds and before he could get to his submission tower. At this point someone in chat dumbfoundedly asks if we're skipping mechs because the fights arent supposed to be this easy. Turns out they can be that easy random SMN guy. Just needs a group paying attention and doing what theyre supposed to(being a full tier+ above the ilvl of the place doesnt hurt either).
Of course, they couldnt all be good. Trials roulette? Lakshmi normal, no new player message and everyone is sync'd down. One of the tanks dies right around the point that she does her first knockback move(i didnt notice how he died or what he was doing before, but his corpse was sitting where bodies get re-set after dropping off). He refuses a couple raises and watches us 7 man the fight for him. Then immediately gets up and leaves. Doesnt say a word the whole time. Did we need him? Of course not, but why arent you helping so we can get done a little faster? The part that bothered me the most? When i went to blacklist him after the fight and found out he was from my server. I hate thinking that to some people out there he represents me somewhat in their mind. Am i the best at what i do? Oh god no. But if im awake enough to que for something(DPS ques being what they are, if i start to fall asleep in my chair while waiting ill abort and log off), i can guarantee youll get the best effort i can manage. SO wanted to kick him, but im not going to try to ruin a pull thats going well to make a point.
There is a special place in Hell for the players that do this after your party agreed that someone else would handle that mechanic by themselves so that you avoid too many people trying to move the mud blob screwing things up.
I keep seeing this in runs.
"Hey DPS A, can you handle moving the mud blob?"
"Sure, no problem"
"Cool. Okay, nobody else hit the mud blob."
Boss fight is going, DPS A does their job and moves the mud blob to the platform and then at the last second DPS B hits it and knocks it off the platform.
On my alt, I made it to Castrum Abania as a sprout without buying a skip. Including a stop-off in Ishgard to level dark knight from 30 to 50 before continuing. It's possible, if you know what to skip and have no life to get in the way.
I tend to mostly have good experiences in duty finder. Sure I may occasionally get a wipe here and there on something like O11 or a new dungeon but generally things go pretty well.
A few gaffes on my part: Almost every time going into O12On the first attempt for that run. I think I'll do better this week but the last couple weeks I kept doing that and felt silly.I forget about the knockback when Omega goes into Female form.
Back when I was leveling black mage as my first job, I had no idea limit breaks were a party wide thing. So I always used it whenever I felt like it. Nobody ever complained about me wasting it or wanting to use it instead. Until I get to the Chrysalis trial and I used it when the 3 bars filled and got yelled at. I apologized and explained and people were cool with it being an honest mistake.
First week of O11 I recall my first clear being a near wipe salvaged by a red mage verraising a healer who then got up as the only one alive to healer lb 3.
Last week in O12, I solod the last 5% hp of the boss as a paladin which was hectic but fun. I then rolled a 97 on the pet, thinking that was the RNG gods rewarding me. Then someone else rolled a 98 and beat me on it and I still don't have the pet, so I got trolled by RNG instead.
I have an RP alt I bought story skip and job boost for, and they had a sprout I think all the way to 70 if I remember right.
