My only problem with this quest was that I kept on hitting buttons where my own cure and stone usually are :P

The only thing that’s BS about that fight is the glitch.
I guess I must have lucked out,1st part of the fight took me a few tries 2nd part of of the fight should be pretty simple just attack and heal if/when needed and it was done, I was concerned at times that there were certain attacks that would cause me to wipe. No glitch for me at all though at the end.

I killed the mnk dude, dot both of them, heal hien and myself.
I don’t know if i can just leave the mnk alone but as main dps to the very soul .. I just kill everything.
If you read the 'speech bubbles' that come up over the screen or in your text log, Hien is telling you to leave the other guy to him and focus on Magnai.
(I think it's essentially a you-vs-Magnai solo battle and the others are mostly there for decoration and/or so Hien isn't left out of the fight.)
Hmmm, I killed the MNK dude first too and then we ganged up on Magnai. Focused fire works wonders, very easy that way.
Having said that, being forced to play something other than the job/build I chose usually gets a strong negative reaction from me (as in I get mad). For example in Witcher 3 I pretty much hated every moment playing as Ciri no matter how badass she was. Luckily in FFXIV the fights have been trivial and rare so I've just shrugged them off with a "meh, looks like this game is going this way too". If these forced player character swaps are to continue, I hope they'll remain as simple as they've been so far.
I loved that fight, and the aftermath even more! XD
And I don't think it was hard at all - 4 abilities (equivalent to Conjurer's Sastasha-level kit + Lucid Dreaming) don't take more than the 15 seconds required to skim the tooltips to master. It's not even close to the level of complexity you're expected to figure out in the Samurai introduction quest. If anything, the Sadu fight was the hard part. The masochist that I am, I did it on Machinist and failed 2 times. Once because my cooldowns weren't up for the dps-check phase and the second because I stopped paying attention for just a moment and found out that the telegraphs actually hurt!
In the Y'shtola fight, I ignored Hien's whining because he's 1: terrible at this game for leaving his healer to tank an enemy, and 2: terrible at this game for thinking that splitting damage was a sound tactical decision. Now I know why Doman Resistance was so useless before WoL showed up.
I did the correct thing and focused down the monk while kiting Magnai with Aero. Monk went down pretty fast, I only needed to heal Hien during the scripted phase, and then he was free to help me finish off Magnai.
Of course, no amount of damage he took during that fight even compares to the savage smackdown Y'shtola laid upon Little Sun afterwards... owwieeee... in front of Sadu, too!
