I don't understand why people say the items suddenly have no value. I didn't participate in any of the contests because I wanted to feel special and own things no one else owned. I participated because it was fun and because I found the rewards cute; I genuinely liked them.

Even if the Mandragora choker (my favourite) was made available for everyone now, I'd still find it as cute as the first day and I'd still be happy to own it. I'd even like to purchase it for any of my alts!

I wonder how they are going to tackle old Ultimates when new expansions hit. They're going to have to do something because sweeping job changes will either make the older fights easier or more difficult than intended.

I'm not super bothered by it being given away, I just wish it didn't feel like they were haphazardly giving things out. White ravens are less prestigious than garlond goggles now, they should have given out white ravens after every other 1.0 exclusive IMO. This scarf is still a current contest reward, RIP everyone who picked it as their item.

So can anyone clarify some things:

Did they explicitly state that the earings and items were going to be solely yours until the end of time? Or was that just assumed? Cause, while I dont agree with the 1.0 earrings thing, atleast they had the promise of that in writing per se. And if they didnt promise you exclusivity now until the end of time, then all Im seeing is them giving anyone a chance to have an item sometime down the line after the contest is over.

Well they're definitely not going to go back and rebalance the fight, at least that much is certain. They refused to go back and switch Titan HM's gaol from encounter reset to just deal damage when asked during a Q&A and that would require significantly less manpower/hours.

They never bothered to verify that minimum item level runs were even possible on all of the content in ARR and HW when SB dropped either; I vaguely remember reading something about it either in the 4.0 patch notes or an interview from that time period.
