Where did the Lalafell hate originate?

Lalafell abuse predates FFXIV in the form of Taru Taru abuse in FFXI, so I don't think that the nasty Lalafellian villains in FFXIV can be wholly to blame. I think it's more likely a combination of the Creepy Child and Troubling Unchildlike Behavior tropes - Lalafell / Taru Taru look childlike, but don't ACT childlike, and that causes some cognitive dissonance that some folks lash out against with faux racism.

They don't get ALL the hate, though. There's plenty left over for Elvaan / Elezen (dhalmel necks!), and other races get an occasional share of the pie, as well.

For me its a real aversion for kawaii. I don't mind cuteness per se but when you dip into that sugary j-pop anime type of cuteness I just wanna burn it. Not sure why it invokes such a reaction from me because cute lil big eyed rl puppies melt my heart. It may have something to do with the kawaii obsessed ppl I have known irl which are by far the most annoying ppl ever or maybe it just triggers something. Even when I was a lil kid anything kawaii invoked the same reaction.

Then I played XI for about 7 years and the taru taru with the way they talkied walkied and acted wacted really annoyed the hell outta me.

So lala stood no chance.

I didn't mean you, but the other poster from your server that seems to disregard other people's experiences of disliking lalafells due to the lack of proof via numbers. I actually like lalas and think they're cute. Sadly generalization tends to happen and yes not everyone who plays a lala are elitist, emote spaming, pervy, rude trolls.

Perhaps not, but enough are that I wish they'd allow a separate mute option for lala noises like they did for performance. I still wouldn't want to look at them, but I at least wouldn't hate them if I didn't have to hear their constant, squeaky, emote spam every time I teleported to Limsa.

/xivg/ is hot garbage in text form. I can't look at any female Miqo'te or Au Ra character without feeling a small amount of disgust now.

I most certainly don't like Lala's due to my experiences with Taru's in FFXI, though not so blindly as to judge a player based on their race pick. I judge the player by their actions, not their race, so I am friends with a number of Lala.

Every Tarutaru player except one(and that one was a Tarutaru reroll from Galka, who were always the nicest people in the game) that I got to know were jerks and/or perverted. Seeing so many emotes that were some variant of /toss "spanks <t>'s rear" or /cheer(I think it was /cheer anyway. It was some emote where they'd hop into their air, raising their hands up) "tries to touch <t>'s chest, but can't reach them!" wore me down after awhile. I knew one who named himself Aaveraiskaaja. Good friend of mind, but go see what that translates to. Finnish to English. I've received SO many verbal lashings from Tarutaru players, my bias against them feels justified.

It's really strange when I think about it though. While I do approach Lalafell with caution, expecting the same kind of players that played Tarutaru since Lalafell are just Tarutaru Reborn, and what I find most of the time are players that are exactly the opposite of what they were in FFXI. A fair number of the Lalafells I've made friends with are some of the nicest people I've run into in the game.
