Actually a part of me also wants to be able to resize it a bit. So that it's bigger.
I have the tattoo on all the time, and it's only ever visible on two-piece gear really.
The nice thing about FFXIV gear, is that very little of it is ugly. The tattoo however, kinda is, and I can't believe some people actually got it as actual tattoos. The thing is, unless you started on a legacy server, you'd never see anyone with it anyway unless they explicitly migrated off the legacy server to a non-legacy server.
So on Primal that's Excalibur and Hyperion. On Aether that's Balmung and Sargatanas, etc. These servers also still have login queues on patch days. Though gone are the days of 1000+ in the queue.
At any rate, no there's no point to the tattoo, and unlike every other gear item in the game, it's something that you can't accidently destroy or throw away.
Now what SE could do, is come up with another tattoo that works in conjunction with the original legacy tattoo, and without the legacy tattoo it actually looks different. So for each version of the game you "survived" , eg 1.0, 2.0, 3.0, 4.0, you get a new part to the tattoo.
In a sense, you can have a tattoo representing when you started that character, with the legacy tattoo. Thus players who started in 3.0, only get the 3.0 part and 4.0 part, and players who only started since 4.0 get the 4.0 part.
And players can just turn off parts of the tattoo they don't like, or all of it.
Correct me if I'm wrong but from what I understand the 1.0 tattoo is a brand the WoL gets from the spell Louisoix casted on them to save them from the Calamity. If that is the case it wouldn't make much sense for there to be tattoos for every expansion. Now what SE could do, is come up with another tattoo that works in conjunction with the original legacy tattoo, and without the legacy tattoo it actually looks different. Not saying I don't want tattoos, I do. But I'd rather they not be something exclusive to an expansion. It excludes new players and honestly would make the 1.0 tattoo less meaningful if each expansion had one.
Troll. if you want the tattoo or other legacy items you should have supported the game and played in 1.0 - no ifs ands or buts. No.So since we got the great White Ravens from people who played 1.0, I thought I'd make this request. Can we get the tattoo on our characters next Rising Event too? I'd love to get a tattoo back there.
If you can't make it for the event, I'll buy it on the mog station too. So please?
I've been supporting the game for years now. Just because I didn't make an account in 1.x time, I can't have it?
Remember. You didn't even need that 3 month sub stuff. Just a character. Doesn't sound like much support was needed.
The tattoo was made specifically for people who played 1.0. As I said before it has literally no other function other than mark someone as a 1.0 player. It's not like statted gear or a mount that has another built-in function.
This really is not the same as the earrings which are statted gear that clearly could be used for combat classes. Also the earrings were not awarded for the act of subbing in 1.0, they were awarded for killing a specific boss. Their exclusivity was of a different nature to the tattoo. SE introducing one 1.0 shiny doesn't automatically mean all should be up for grabs.
The collector’s edition of 1.0 came with a free digital copy of the game. My girlfriend used mine to make her character, played it for about an hour, and (understandably) decided the game was awful and not worth playing further.
That character she made? She could resub at any time, and she’d have a legacy mark just like mine. So how exactly did she “earn” or “support” the game, seeing as she spent $0 and less than 60 minutes on it?
Maybe you should educate yourself as to the requirements for a legacy character. The collector’s edition of 1.0 came with a free digital copy of the game. Just ignore him and let the thread die. People try to explain him the point. He doesn't want to listen, just want the thing. So just ingore.
