≪How Achievements Work≫Below is a list of achievement NPCs who unlock categories and distribute rewards.
- View the achievement list. Initially, only category names will be visible, and individual achievements will not be shown.
- Unlock the contents of achievement categories by speaking to various NPCs found across Eorzea.
* Achievements can be earned only after they have been unlocked.
- Fulfill the conditions for earning an achievement.
* Gear-related achievements require that you speak to the NPC with the item(s) equipped.
- Check whether or not the achievement comes with an item or title reward.
- Receive any rewards by speaking once more to the NPC who unlocked that achievement’s category.

The following are the types of rewards currently available as achievement rewards.
- Titles
Titles will be rewarded for earning certain achievements. You can select the title you wish to be displayed on your character sheet, or opt to show no title. The titles of other players can be seen by viewing their profiles.
* Titles will be displayed on player display names in Version 2.0.
Ex.)To access titles and title display settings, select Attributes from the main menu and then press the Titles that appears under the first tab.
- Achieve level 50 as a miner, botanist, and a fisher: Provider of the Realm
- Successfully convert 1,000 spiritbound items into materia: the Assimilator
- Items
Some achievements reward items to commemorate your efforts and perseverance.
Ex.)
- Obtain the "A Miner's Life for Me" achievements for La Noscea, the Black Shroud, and Thanalan: Pick of the Luminary
- Defeat 100,000 enemies: Butcher’s Crown
≪Achievement Points≫
Each achievement also awards a certain number of achievement points. Running point totals can be used to gauge how many achievements a player has earned, and to engage in friendly competition with others. These points are in no way a form of in-game currency.
≪Future Expansion of the Achievement System≫
- Status of achievements in progress
The display of current progress for achievements (such as percentages and kill counts) will not be available in patch 1.20. We will be adding this feature sometime after 1.20a- As of version 1.20, it is not possible to verify locations you have traveled to as part of various exploration achievements. This issue will also be addressed after patch 1.20a.
- Additional Achievements
New achievements will continue to be added following release of 1.20a.- [dev1213] A PC search feature has been added.
≪Searching for PCs≫
Online status, class (*1), level (*2), current location (region, area), Grand company affiliation, and language settings (*3) can now all be used as search conditions when looking for other PCs.
*1 Players whose status is set to Seeking Party can be searched for by their preferred class.
*2 The level of players whose status is set to Seeking Party will be that of the preferred class they have selected.
*3 Though any supported language may be selected, the default setting will be for the language specified in the FINAL FANTASY XIV Config.
The default search settings restrict results to those players within ±5 levels of your current class who are located in the same area as you at the time the search is made.

- Search Results
The list of search results displays each PC’s online status, name, current class, preferred class, current location, Grand Company affiliation, and language.
* Although the AFK icon appears on the interface (third from the left), at present players can neither verify this status nor prescribe it as a search condition. These features will be implemented in a future patch.

A window containing more detailed information can be viewed by selecting a PC from the search result list. Party invites and /tells can be sent directly from this screen.

≪Procedure≫
- Search for an item and then select one of the retainers selling it.
- Input the quantity you wish to buy. A surcharge will be displayed. Select Accept to carry out the transaction.
A 5% surcharge is applied to purchases made directly from the item search screen.
* Surcharges will not exceed 4,000 gil.
- The last twenty transactions made for an item will be displayed.
* Histories will be reset during maintenance.
- The following features are planned for future patches.
As of patch 1.20, it is not possible to view the quality (HQ/NQ) or materia-related information on the item search results screen. This information will be added sometime after patch 1.20b.- Direct Name Input
As of patch 1.20, item names cannot be input directly when conducting a search. The ability to do this will be added in patch 1.21.- [dev1247] Interaction menu commands have been added to the micro menu.
Interaction menu icons now appear on the micro menu when available. This makes it possible to execute these commands without opening the interaction menu.

Allows you to set the distance of sound effects in 3-D environments. Ordinarily, sound effects such as footsteps and spellcasting are heard from the screen’s perspective. By adjusting this setting, it is possible to deepen the impression of hearing from the character’s perspective.- Camera
