Light Farming, Sleepy Boys, and Camps

Based on the info gathered this far...this is by far and away the worst light farm. I wasn’t around for ARR relics pre need, though. 8 Anima weapons done before SB arrived and I’d much rather be in the SB equivalent (O1S maybe) spamming away at that than running back and forth between sleepy boi spawns killing then over and over.

Just my two cents, but the un-nerfed Atma step in ARR was by far worse. Took me two months of grinding FATEs to get one of the Atma, while others I got within a day or two. At least here I can get guaranteed light from NMs and mutations/adaptations. And if I get a brilliant? Basically a free crystal on that off-chance.

One theory is to not kill mutated monsters until you have 2 arrows up of drop rate (chain 20+) but that's more trouble than it's worth and carries a high chance to lose the chain.

No, the crystal is likely client side and is almost definitely unrelated to anything. I was using it as an example for the poor design, and how silly whatever the design team has worked out to be the "optimal" light strategy.

If you've hit cap at Pagos and are going for your 2nd relic you've probably realized that the real grind was never XP or Pagos Crystals, and is the Frosted Protean Crystals.

I realized this way before when I first hit 25. I saw how minuscule the light gains were from "feeble" and have yet to see anything beyond that. I just hit 35 at the tie of writing and the prospect of grinding 40+ mobs doesn't intrigue me in the least but I have to do it because it's the only way to progress the relic. I'm more interested in getting the behemoth pelt from the nm among other rare oddities but the rng behind them is so egregious it has its own debate. Regardless of whether we do fin this "optimal" way of grinding I highly doubt its as optimal as Yoshi states. If it gets us something like a half or full bar per mob (highly unlikely) then I would be the first to say sorry but that still doesn't hide the fact that this is just bad content.

It's bad because of the lack of a mount to artificially slow the grind, bad because the chains break not as a result of the player but a hard cap of 30, bad because of the rng behind NM spawns and NM rewards (including Bunny fates) and just over all bad because it took the one thing that the casual people don't like and condense it into its own instance with no other work around. I'm talking about mindlessly hitting a mob over and over and over again and this is coming from a guy who isn't even casual with several raid clears under his belt including the coil series and deltascape which I pugged through. You only get a first impression once and this content, as soon as I stepped into it, is bad.

i have 6 of these planned to make since i like to make all relics for my favorite classes
but light isnt that much of a problem for me i think its more the 500 crystals

if light hasnt been a problem for you what do you do to farm light? its been going way slow for me

I've never gotten anything other than feeble, and it's killing my hands. What's the trick?
