PSA/ALERT: Houses are getting demolished when they shouldn't. SE needs to see this!

I do wonder how they're going to go about solving this. If a player lost a house through no fault of their own then there's a good chance that someone else has already bought the plot in question. Such a person may have been waiting for months - or even years - to get a house of their own, so it's not going to be as simple as stripping it from them to hand it back to the previous owner.

Are the restrictions still in place where after a plot is relinquished, it undergoes some kind of random timer before it becomes available again? If so, I would advise everyone log in at least once a day. Though it won't guarantee reclaiming your previous plot should it get demo, it will at least increase your chances of doing so. I'm hoping anyway.

I would also recommend interacting with the house. I know that people who are in the Interior Design Contest are not allowed to move items around or change their estate, so what I’ve been doing is taking a few things out of storage, dropping them into my inventory, and then putting them back in storage. I’m also talking to the Junkmonger NPC every day, purchasing either a random Dark Matter or selling useless stuff to them. Just so my house has me interacting with it, and not just me stepping into it. I’m doing the same with the FC house I own.

I’m also making a point to idle in there (my personal) longer than I usually do. Even if the bug is isolated, I’m doing what I can to make sure I’m not affected, because I have Plot 41 in the Lavender Beds that I secured after the new Wards were added (dream plot), and I would cry if I lost it. ;_; I’m checking my Timers daily, and if I see a demolition timer appear, I’m immediately going to contact Support and talk to them while I’m standing in my house (especially if the timer doesn’t disappear). I will not lose my house to a bug or error. ;_;

This is actually kind of scary. I feel like I'm waiting for the signal to evacuate because of a raging fire, flood, or some other natural disaster. Very good tips. There is no demolition in my timers so I think I am somewhat in the safe zone, and my interactions with my house are commonplace because I spend so much time there: Tending, cleaning stable, checking retainers, mogmail, company chest, eating meals in the café, planting in my pots, the whole nine yards. However, I have not been logging out in my house as usual because I am new to SB and have been logging out at the inn in Kugane. Not anymore.

I feel so bad for anyone who has lost their home. An FC loss, I can't even imagine. What would happen to airship/sub progression? Oh my god the amount of mats that is required to do this. It's one thing to log on with all your possessions in a box and a plot waiting to be claimed, but that would be the same as logging in and your main DoW/DoM dropped right back down to level 1/30/50. As a gardener I also think of the lost crops, and just ouch! The more I think about this, the worse it gets. I need to take additional precautions for the time being. Thank you for the tips

Housing interaction

This is something I've been curious about since seeing this issue pop up periodically. Everyone knows "you just have to enter your house to reset the timer," but my personal unsubstantiated suspicions are "just entering" and leaving isn't enough for the server to really even recognize the house has been active. Change the lighting, check NPCs, anything to have something in the server record that you've been there.

But, I'm sure there's stories of some folks that have lost out that think they did all that and still lost. Without really digging into the codes and processes running, hard to say anything for sure.

Not to be picky but do you have a screen shot of it or a link to where it was said? Just makes things more valid seeing it said by a GM in a screen shot or on a GM post.

That is what a GM said, they have a strict privacy policy on the forums so I am not going to do that.

If these things are happening then SE need to stop the timer right now..its a shame how this has been reported for a couple of days now and its still running which could mean that more and more people will lose their house..

SE if something in your system does not work maybe its time to stop it forever. I was not subbed for around a month and I remembered when my sub stopped. So I knew that I need to be back at a certain day to still have my FC and private house..yet after I read about the bug I went back sooner and had the timer with 10 days. (Interestingly I went into both houses on my last day and yet one said 11 days the other one 10..) I had no single email from them and I normally get any information from their company..so that also seems to be buggy.

At the same time I had a discussion with someone and they said that there had been a bug a year ago where the timer did not stop counting down even though people were in their houses and moved things around..if all of those are happening again and again then stop with that timer..

In the end if I lose my house thanks to that then I will stop playing this game...I would not support someone anymore that first let this still happen thanks to not stopping the timer and also would not really have a solution for those that lost it.

(Also lets not forget that you can buy house items for real money...if you are on a high played server then this might mean that you cant use that items anymore thus also lose real money..GG)

Yup, that would be the breaking point for me. If I ever lose my house and they do not give it back because of a bug on their part, I will do my best to get what I can refunded and never buy a SE product again. I do not understand why they are not taking this seriously

If that were the case, then you still just broke a rule by posting what a GM said even in text no matter if you did star out their name.
But what Luna said, you can block out their name on the screen shot and post it.

I don't believe a GM/Dev team looking into this at all. No word on the lodestone, nothing said on reddit by the one GM who was looking into the matter on one of the threads, and not a word here on OF.

Kind of makes me question the validity of the issue. One would think if it’s legit the first thing SE would have done upon confirming the bug’s existence would be to shut off the auto demo function until they could fix it

There have been examples in the german forum too so if this is not legit than this is quite the big joke. Also someone told me that the bug with the email (not receiving it even if the timer is nearly done) was dismissed by SE but is still there even today. (I was a "victim" of it too)
