PSA/ALERT: Houses are getting demolished when they shouldn't. SE needs to see this!

Can we get someone that this actually happened to on this thread. So far this is just heresy and reddit. People have lied on reddit before, can we get screenshots of the convo or the email where SE acknowledges it as a mistake.

I will be devastated if I randomly lose my house, so this does need attention if it's true. But so far this thread has not been constructive or effective. We need to build a viable case using actual evidence and if possible get those people to post their stories here so a SE person can see its actually happening.

They aren't going to care until that happens here.

I see no evidence of the claims that a GM responded. The person hasn't been active in the FF14 reddit in half a year after having been active at least once a month before that. And they posted that they were selling their house that they supposedly just lost one year ago. I can't tell how active they are, but they're wearing a full set of 350 gear.

The other post is a new reddit account just created for that post. And I can't imagine how someone can possibly get the refund amount of a large house so grossly wrong (30%? seriously?)

One of the other posts is a little more credible.


And with all of this supposedly going on, not one person thought to post about it on the official forums.

I agree, as someone who this hasn't happened to, that's what this thread is for. It's a cry-out for affected people to speak about it, for people who aren't affected to know about it and ask around to see if there's anyone they know affected so they can be pointed towards this thread.

As far as I know there are some people who have been affected who have been informed of the thread (as seen in my Reddit link above, someone has informed their affected FC Officer of the thread) so hopefully we will be getting just this kind of evidence soon. Just... there was nothing on here about it, I couldn't let it stay like that. So even if I'm not affected, I had to make a thread so this issue gets the attention it needs.

In the case of this reddit user at least, they have been inside their house as early as yesterday and still the plot got demolished with no Timer warnings and no email notifications. Square Enix customer support has even confirmed that the plots were demolished due to an error on their end. Reading the comments there are a few similar cases, one dating back to 2 years ago.

I'll write a lengthier response to the thread later on as I gather my thoughts... but needless to say, if these reports are true, then every home owner who bears any attachment to their houses should be very concerned.

Click the links I provided. These people have literally AFK'd inside their house and still lose it days later. How is that theirs or anyone's responsibility except SE's?

I'll give the people who made these Reddit threads benefit of the doubt and believe them but we need real proof. The problem is people usually banned on OF to make these comments, but they can at very least contact SE directly like been instructed.

I'd think they made a typo, you always get 80% of what you purchased the plot for when demolished. I know this cause I forcely did this to one of my houses that i didn't want to keep on my alts prior to 4.2 changes.

If I was in their shoes I would probably, as understandable (if true) he/she was furious about losing their house make same demand. iirc there been instances where SE have removed someone's house to give it back (something about person was scammed and had in-game proof).

Something seems off.

Neither are posting what SE actually replied, just paraphrasing them. One even got the amount of gil reimbursed incorrectly. Not saying it's trolling or spreading fear, only that it's... odd, especially for how readily people are to screenshot replies from staff. Still, with the constant outcry of not enough houses, I'd expect there to be an even higher outcry if people could lose their houses. Even if it's one person's personal house, they're probably in a guild and/or have friends. No storming to official forums and swamping the bugs/ housing or general categories to get attention? This really sounds unlikely, especially with a lack of any kind of hard evidence.

However, jeeze, if this bug is legitimate, it should really be addressed.

In all fairness, not a lot of people use FFXIV's OF. And a lot of people who post on Reddit are banned from here, so they can't if they wanted to. Not sure if that's the case for either of these people or not.

As for your other points, I wouldn't take account age, lack of a post history, nor the gear of the person's character as clear indicators that they're lying necessarily. I'm typically skeptical of things, but to see 2 threads appear in less than 24 hours with multiple comments about how this has happened before is a little disconcerting, nonetheless.

My problem with this specific person was that they were going, "AND IF SQUARE DOESN'T I WILL NEVER PLAY ANY OF THIS COMPANY'S GAMES AGAIN EVER!!!" like a child pitching a temper tantrum, which, along with everything else, feels suspect.

I can understand being salty or angry but that's bit much imo.
