No, you seem to be misunderstanding what the issue is. If you look at the threads on Reddit the players were using their houses and if you are entering your house regularly, why would you check the timers?.
In one case the player contacted a GM who apparently admitted the house had been demolished in error but did not return the plot to them, despite it being empty at the time.

I was hoping one of the people affected might make a post here but not everyone is able to post on the OF. However, it's clear the issue is more serious than people not using their houses and /or not checking their timers after a period of inactivity.

Click the links I provided. These people have literally AFK'd inside their house and still lose it days later. How is that theirs or anyone's responsibility except SE's?

I lowkey call bs on this. There is multible warnings (check your spamfilters) and also if you KNOW you not using your house check Timer menu, it will be stated there as well.

I think it more about people being ignorant and suddenly realise "shiet im gonna lose my house i never use".

In the case of this reddit user at least, they have been inside their house as early as yesterday and still the plot got demolished with no Timer warnings and no email notifications. Square Enix customer support has even confirmed that the plots were demolished due to an error on their end. Reading the comments there are a few similar cases, one dating back to 2 years ago.

I'll write a lengthier response to the thread later on as I gather my thoughts... but needless to say, if these reports are true, then every home owner who bears any attachment to their houses should be very concerned.

This is worrying if true. I would be beyond upset losing my personal nevermind the fc house. Hopefully if it is a bug SE fixes it and finds a way to make it right for those affected.

I said I've never seen the issue, I've never experienced it, none of my friends have experienced it and it's never come up on my server at all.

While I agree with you, the people mentioning this on Reddit have said repeatedly that they are inside of their house and using it every day, yet they still got demolished. If the stories are true, it's a cause for concern. I'm in my personal house every day, and I'd be irate to have it demolished "in error".

If that is all true, yes sounds very concerning.

I'm inclined to believe that something odd is going on, as one of the accounts indicates that the person impacted tried multiple times to contact SE and it was confirmed to them (allegedly - I'd like to see a screenshot of this) that the house was indeed demolished in error - but they still wouldn't do anything about it. I saw mention somewhere that someone had still received a 10 day demolition notice even though they used their house daily. I'm not inclined to think that every user coming forward stating 'I was in my house yesterday and now it's gone' is lying; I'm sure not every report of an unjustified demolition is wholly truthful, but you know what they say- where there's smoke, and all that.

My FC has a house, and I have a personal house. I'd be devastated if anything happened to either; I usually idle in one or the other, but I visit both daily. All these posts have me paranoid and checking the timers window just to make sure that my entries are actually logging and a demolition countdown isn't creeping up on me- but if houses are spontaneously being revoked, not sure that trying to watch the timers would be particularly helpful since the common comments in these reports seems to be that there is no warning at all.

This is *exactly* why I made this thread, people need to make reports if it's happened to them and even people who haven't had it happen need to bring it to SE's attention before the list of affected increases. ;-;
