Yeah, it's stuff like this that I was afraid was gonna happen, and absolutely ruin this stageWe just killed 402 morbals during blizzard (same as we've done successfully before to spawn Cassie) and there's no Fate.
Four hundred and two.
Done, I give up. When you put more time into progressing Pagos than into progressing and clearing Savage, there is a problem in the content.
That - and I spent 2 lockouts doing the level 31 bunny fates non stop, got no eyes, no housing drops, no minions. Only trash. Really disheartened.
I hate it. If I wanted to play EQ again, I would just go back to EQ. I left the camp and grind style behind me for a reason. I wouldn't even touch this content if they didn't force us to go there for our relics. And everyone else might see them as glam, but if you DON'T do Savage, then this is supposed to be the path to get a comparable weapon.
Completely agree with all of the original post.... add in the fact I just grinded for an hour plus, died, and lost double my experience including deleveling to 19.... thanks!
I totally agree with some of the opinions of others earlier in this thread.
How I would make this better.
Killing mobs would spawn mini bosses that only your party can see/fight. Thes min bosses have mechanics and hey are what will spawn NM’s. Love the idea.
Also, take some of the 1 sided/monotonus grind out of it by letting us do daily quests for the NPC’s in the camp, or perhaps NPCs they could put through the area. This would not give massive exp but give personal touch to the place and break up the grind a bit.
I’ll keep dreaming.
If I had to write how I feel about Pagos, that would have been exactly what you wrote and that couldn't have been explained better. This is really worrisome for the future of the game if this is SE's vision of quality content.
Dollars to doughnuts SE's replies to all the complaints will be:
- Please do the content at your own pace. Don't rush to finish. Pagos isn't meant to be completed as quickly as Anemos.*
- Please understand that not all content is for everyone and we will be taking feedback on what can be improved.**
- Please try out the instance some more before giving more feedback, there are things that have not been discovered yet.***
*You ruined our vision for the first iteration so this is our retaliation.
**For other content that is not this expansion's relic quest. We will be ignoring most complaints anyway, get your butts ready for Diadem 3.0 in the next expansion.
***They are extremely minor things that won't change the mind-numbing and physically harmful grind.
It’s not just Pagos. Eureka as a whole this far has been a colossal disappointment. They could’ve used elements from the hamlet defenses this game had during 1.x and also had other FATEs pop up with mobs to kill a la Diadem in addition to having to grind out. Heck, have areas to gather and things to craft (using mats obtained in Eureka) in order to progress elvl.
Just very basic concepts there that could’ve been applied to have the process of obtaining new glamour sticks a bit more fun.
Im not sure if Pagos' set up is due to issues that Anemos had, or if they didnt think things through. For example, an issue I saw in Anemos was Low level drag behind. You couldnt participate in the train essentially until you were at least 5. This meant a ton of grinding, most likely by yourself, because no one was gonna run with you. You could tag along in the train anyways, but fact was youd be more likely to die than have much luck.
The second issue is people standing around waiting for NMs to spawn. They spawned frequently enough, sure, but ultimately you had 20 people or so actually killing stuff while the rest of the train afked till the monster showed up. Also, I do wonder if it was an intended design for the train to exist anyways, or if the devs had envisioned multiple small groups doing it and spawning bosses of their own accord.
Because of the aforementioned issues, I feel like Pagos is the actual INTENDED version of Eureka. What the devs actually wanted. An island mass with monsters you just grind, ala old MMO style like RO or MS or similar ones.
I think the big trouble however, is it doesnt feel like youre making progress. The exp grind is brutal in teh sense that it takes a lot of time/effort to kill regular mobs. They hurt, and the have huge HP pools, but they arent difficult or interesting. Its like beating away at brick walls, one at a time. The interesting monsters are the NMs, but theyre not spawning (as the OP points out). I think the Devs realized this issue and subsidized it with the challenge log rather than increase the spawn rate to make sure its not "train moving from place to place." It shifts emphasis to groups just grinding mobs for ridiculous periods of time. Now your exp is from the challenge log, not from NMs, making the train less a thing.
As the OP points out, it just feels...unrewarding. I cant even zone out to the grind cause of the damage monsters do. I wouldnt notice the slow exp rate if the place was more interesting. Perhaps were doing it wrong. Maybe we're missing something, like the bunnies spawn NMs faster (god that awful lvl 20 fate in early area is teh worst NM thing ever. It is so god awful, and it gives 0 exp...FFS, no one no one does it.) I dunno, but this Pagos feels...off.
the only advantage compared to teh old lines was I can now grind any class on my DRK, and dont have to start from scratch.
I’m convinced I’ll be better off just doing savage raids instead of mucking around with this sort of “content” of his is how relic weapons will be going forward. Have BiS weapons several months before the relic alternative is even available? Sign me up.I hate it.
Is this weapon even a relic ?I hate it.
I mean, HW relic was the next step of ARR relic, we upgraded it by sacrificing that weapon to accelerate the processus to have a base of work for Geralt... Or start it from scratch but HW wasn't that "relic like" to me anyway.
Here we have a AF weapon that we upgrade like the relic but thats it, its like a relic but is it even one to begin with ? I don't think so...
This is a relic weapon :
You see the color ? Its purple, its unique in a sence that only this series of upgrade of this weapon will be purple they will be unique. You don't see them on the market nether you can find plenty of this sleeping in a chest, this weapon carry a legend, your legend, your story.
This is just another blue weapon that happen be upgradable :
Its just a weapon as any other weapon you can find anywhere, its rarity blue, it have materia slot cause yeah its still fine work, Geralt isn't your common blacksmith but this weapon carry nothing but despair, nothing but hours of boring casual trash mob killing, there is no memory that worth being reminded in this but "Never Again".
This is no relic, I won't punish myself further, I'll put this weapon in the same trashcan where I put PvP mount cause I just despise it but this is no relic, this is no legendary weapon that only a warrior of light can wield.
