Depends on your female. This would look great on me as a Highlander.Honestly, I'm the oddball that thinks it's fine as a male exclusive and that it would probably look odd on female characters after watching Hien wear it, but that's just me...
I'm of the mind that some things look great on females that were originally male first and some don't.
This looks like one of the "don't" to me, in my opinion.
We seem to be getting less as time goes on.
Thancred's second outfit gave us a decent looking set and a unique hairstyle.
Aymeric's outfit gave us a decent looking set...but the hairstyle was made unisex, even though female characters were given Minfilia's hairstyle and Yshtola's hairstyle as unique options.
Many of the hairstyles added in patches since that point have been feminine/androgynous.
Hildibrand's ruined outfit was added as a male exclusive. It really should have been a unisex quest reward.
Hien's outfit gave us a set that is technically unique...but is clearly an altered version of dungeon gear with stretched textures. Despite his hairstyle being heavily requested, that wasn't added to the game.
One can only wonder what the next exciting episode in the ongoing saga will involve...
I don’t think Hien’s costume is altered from the Sohm Al gear, just maybe drawing on the same inspirations. I hadn’t thought of it until this thread pointed it out.
On his very pixelated-looking robe, I actually had an interesting thought/discovery on that recently. The other week I got to visit a tapestry workshop, and their work in progress was using large blocks of colour, a bit like Hien’s robe - and it actually does have that pixelated appearance on curved lines because of the nature of the weaving. I don’t know whether that would be the technique used by that (Earth-equivalent) culture, but it’s possible that it’s not just poor texturing by the art team but a deliberate effect.

Why in the world has everything to be available for female characters? Can't you just be happy they already have all the attention and new glamours while males get just recycled ones? God.
the same reason why everything has to be available for male characters.
you can't be taken serious saying you want to wear the female gear as a male, while saying at the same time that females must not wear the male gear.
i mean you didn't said you want to wear the female gear, quite the opposite, that gear should stay gender locked - but for what is the gender lock good for?
Sure. If they unlock Y’shtola’s or someone else’s too.
Only most people don't want the female versions unlocked (you can keep the Princess dress, thank you), we want a matching set that isn't a cheap recoloring of glamour already available in the game. Problem is, whenever we do get a glamour set worth half a damn, this thread happens.
I am completely detached from the male/female debate. I only seek to add any decent looking Eastern outfits for my Samurai to wear because the selection of Eastern armor sets for the Samurai are strangely rare. And my Samurai is female.
I would love to have the maid outfit for my lala, rock that trap life. Will trade ya, anyone interested?
