I feel it's time for more housing wards again

We won't and we shouldn't get more wards, especially bearing mind most of the newly added wards in the Goblet district are still free on most servers (Most plots in each ward anyway). Just buy yourself a cute little cottage, decorate it, enjoy it, take advantage of the gardening, then when the time comes and the plot is free, relocate

Except the servers with actual populations like balmung and mateus are suffering horribly under the current system

On the goblet comments, love the brimming heart and own the medium there, if they made the outer ring as good as the brimming heart the goblet would have no issue filling up more wards. But on the main topic if ur server has two available plots then ur server doesn't need more wards. Even of those two get taken there is always auto demo that'll free up some housing.

The medium that's right there on the water? It's amazing I own it on my server.

You are right with the problem with the Goblet though. The only houses that look good are the ones that exist in the middle of the map (some aren't even exactly on the water but they still look good) and all the ones on the outside look horrible.

Tbh the grandfathering in people was a huge mistake, those people should only be allowed to keep one house of their choice and the rest go back on the market. In real life if rules and laws are changed, you still have to abide by them. there's no grandfathering in - So SE really doesn't need to be nice to the people who are technically breaking rules under the new changes.

There is no reason that people should be able to keep 20+ houses and 8+ apartments on one server. There's no reason behind owning all this besides being selfish and greedy and this can be seen by the "just move servers" logic always posted.

To fix housing these things need to be done.
1. Remove the grandfathered houses
2. Change the buying system to a lottery, so everyone puts their money down and someone is picked at random. This would remove a lot of the unfairness already in place.
3. Transfers should abide by the same rules as new buyers. Too many houses are taken by a transfer after people were sitting there 8+ hours.
4. Ban the people making fc's just to flip houses ( theres sites advertising this shit and still no one is banned for it...)

I'm grandfathered in at neflix for 7.99 for life... granted that's just streaming on one device, no discs, nothing but one thing but hey I only use one device at a time so it's a great deal... and if I ever feel like I need to upgrade I can, while keeping my price if I choose to go back down... that's why sometimes I pay for netflix even if their's nothing I desire to watch on it (and I know I'm going to be too busy that month to actually utilize it for "down time").

Big flaw with your comparison - you're comparing subscription prices to a ingame feature. Subscription prices being lower for grandfathered in people does not effect anyone else on Netflix. People being grandfathered in with 20 houses impacts other people who are also paying for the game. So your comparison is really flawed

It's unfortunate, but SE can't act on any information not explicitly found in the game, and for good reason, there's no way for them to verify what's posted. How do we know specifically that person saying they're selling the house actually is that person? It sounds silly to us but that's why. Though that makes a lot of sense, there have been plenty of people who advertise it in game and are known for doing it. Yet action against these players are still not taken. The problem is SE doesn't want to fix it, cause they really don't care too.

Seriously stop for a second and really think about what you are asking and suggesting. You are asking SE to retroactively FORCIBLY TAKE BACK PLOTS THAT WERE PURCHASED 100% BY THE RULES, that were in place for 3 years, and give them away to others because you think it's unfair? That is the worst idea I've ever heard. Not to mention it's hypocritical of you to suggest it.

What if SE said "dear Kurotoga Iga, we regret to inform you that some players think that it's unfair that you have a personal large, and we will be replacing it with a small, because this other FC down the street wants it and derserves it more than you. Sorry." Would you be okay with that? Same thing.

Or.... "Dear player, we understand that you have soloed palace of the dead on your Summoner, however, some other players who aren't as lucky, felt that you don't deserve your title and prize for doing that, so we are taking it back to make it more fair. Sorry."

Also, "Dear player, we understand that you craft alot and have 500m Gil, some players who refuse to craft think that the is unfair, so we are taking back 480m of your Gil to distribute it evenly to other players, because this is unfair."

I spent over a hundred hours leveling up my alts and doing MSQ, and ranking up grand company to get extra houses. You think I should give them away? LOL. You can get lost.

It also say somewhere that gameplay and requirements and the likes may change over time, am near 10.000 hours in FFXIV, the things you say should give up or the likes is not a limited item like a housing plot in X ward X region... yes I think you should give them up, like it or not, rules 3 years ago is nothing compared to what it is today, all they gotta do is to make you sign a new ToS to change and then make it clear of the changes, don't want you punished or anyone, but reimbursed for your losses of course, but this does not mean you cannot have 20 accounts with one house each as it is, that is fairplay and your money paying for several subscriptions as it is, grandfathering, would say it is a bad move, SE reimbursing people for their losses would be better, I believe in fairplay in general as it is.

As it is I could care less if they do something about it or not, but they should, as in noted people keep on doing it with their alts one way or another

I vote for no more wards though before SE clean up the current mess.

Huge flaw with your recommendation, is that SE does not have enough houses for huge overcrowded servers like Balmung and mateus, where most players have side FCS for RPing purposes. Even if they limited it to ONLY one house (FC only or private only), you are still going to be short what....15k houses? Take away the grandfathered ones and now you are only short.....what....14,600? LOL

The main thing hurting players who want housing is that the entire system was done half assed.
-plots not instanced

-player housing should have be apts only, that can be expanded in size to S/M/L.

-fcs only for houses . Prices should not have become so cheap. 3m for a small is insane; especially since any FC with even ten part time members can raise the Gil in no time.

-no expanding plot sizes. Plots should've been same size, and start off as a small, and as FC grows, add onto it, and upgrade size to m/l. It would have been the perfect Gil sink

-add more Gil sinks. There is nothing for Crafters to buy except for housing. It's a huge problem in the game. Without massive goals that push Crafters to save and play day and day, SE will loose customers. The game NEEDS fancy items (glams/minions/mounts) that are well over 20m to take away gil.

If there were 20m Gil mounts from NPCS, I would've bought those instead of mansions.
Even after I gave away 200m to others for cottages and meds as gifts, I still had 400m to blow. There's nothing to buy in this game.
So now I quit crafting and will just raid and design I suppose.....
