Guessing Derplander's job next expansion.

Samurai Derplander has the scar.

Hmm... well I can't 100% say whether that is or isn't the scar. It's in the right place, but the scene I paused on had the hair away from the cheekbone more. But, it doesn't really matter, like I said, if anything, it was an oversight. And besides just cause I don't see it doesn't mean it isn't there. I do wear glasses for a reason, T.T

I mean, in the patch trailers and stuff the Samurai is in place of the player character during the Doma sections (with Monk being in the Ala Mhigo sections), so I think it's safe to say they're the same person.

I think you could make a plenty cool looking healer this far in as an expansion centerpiece. Picture your WoL calmly walking through a battlefield with purpose, passing along a big aoe heal that picks up everyone off the ground then is marching at the head of an army and dropping a healer-nuke-spell like a holy or something and being all super confident and not-looking-at-explosions about it. it pairs with the idea that you are a seasoned veteran and a leader: calm, cool, collected, in control of the situation, and not just a badass in your own right but inspiring and empowering others to be more than they are.

SCH Is the least likely to have flouncy flowy robes as their artifact gear out of all the healers so I'm on board with that. Imagine trying to get Derplander as an AST or WHM past committee... Or SE could stop making healers wear delicate dresses all the time so we can look cool without glamour.

If we go to take on the Garlean Empire as most suspect at this point then I can see MCH being the job of choice- assuming they don't showcase any new jobs they might add.

SCH may be least likely to wear girly gowns but WHM has the bombastic HOLY spell which would look amazing in cutscene. SCH can't really compare with that :/

I'm in the more realistic MCH camp for probable Garlean expac, or possibly MCH/New Job much like the SB trailer was MNK/SAM

I heard they're probably adding a gunblade job, so that if anything. If we want a healer, Chemist would probably work...

I keep coming back to this thread but my brain breaks every time. He went to Ishgard, he became Dragoon. He went to Ala Mhigo, he became Monk. He went to the Far East, he became Samurai. Now he's going to Garlemald (probably). "When in Rome", right?

But, these are places he went as friend. Will he be a friend of Garlemald by 5.0? A Garleanesque job would look bizarre unless we already have more than an airship full of people Zenos is trying to kill as our Garlean allies or Gaius is our job NPC, lol.

I'm still rather attached to the idea that we'd shore up the defenses in Ala Mhigo and Doma rather than march from either (or pincer from both), then secure the cooperation of the Near East (and hopefully one or two of those "Good Legati" we keep hearing about). Containment beats invasion if we're trying to prevent a Calamity; a surgical strike on the heart of Elidibus's plans (and hope Varis doesn't pull some Xande nonsense as we roll up).

Thavnairian jobs, though ... Blue Mage, Dancer, Corsair, Chemist?

I kept joking that Regula would be the new job - Blue Mage - a gunblade wielder using ceruleum-based monsters-and-magicks mimicry, but now I'm seeing people suggest "The Blue is the Ceruleum" seriously and I don't know what to think about that, either, lol.
