The quote may be from 2013 but the information in it was accurate through roughly mid-Heavensward so it being old info doesn't really fly in this context.

Nobody reasonable is going to put down on them for having to implement something to combat abandoned homes, but people do and rightfully should drag on them for continuing to limp along with such a poorly designed system given their limitations. It has been and will continue to be perhaps the single largest blemish on the game, and is a patchwork of band-aid fixes and bad decisions.

Apartments, if significantly expanded upon, can fix the problem and I hope some of what they've said they're working on will do just that.

Well if they dont know if they use such a system or not then maybe they should not have said that this was a thing in the past and this will not happen in FF14..Maybe they should have created a system where something like that was not necessary..but housing is a bad topic anyway..Yoshida also said that private houses would be different from FC ones..seems that they cant stick with their opinion and create something that goes with that.

But hey they wont change it because in the end this forces people that are house owners (like me) into subbing nearly constantly..which also goes against his view that people should just take a longer break from the game if they are bored.

5 years later...small ideas, but more experience. I wish we had ARR launch Yoshi-P than 2018 Yoshi-P. A Director with big ideas means a lot of good for a game. Nowadays, the design of things now feels more lazy and less thought out. Sad.

Some things have been added and are going to be added into the game simply because he promised it back then (squadron and primal summoning in HoH) and he did so without having anything to promise really or simply wrong ideas (he thought about squadrons as a way to do dungeon solo, while undersized should've been the ideal from start),

Both ways have their pro and cons, but tbh I'd rather someone not prpmising me anything if he can't really hold up what he promises

XIV itself being so heavily client-sided is a necessary evil due to how weak the servers are but it makes it extremely easy for people to hack.

If the app is also heavily client-sided that would be a recipe for disaster.

Very valid concerns and I wouldn't be surprised if we see a cracked APK file on the webs shortly after. I guess depend how the app conects to the game and if require some sort of verification.

The system Is fine the way it is, demolition every 45 days is enough though i'd push for 30 days. If people want houses and such there are servers available with housing.
