If you go with values comparing exchange rates, prices would be changing every month. Get over it. I'm sure you don't compare euro prices to dollars on every single item you buy, because it doesn't matter. You get paid equivalent amounts that'll let you live in your country.

America is a huge body of land, sometimes referred to as the Americas in the English-speaking world. The United States of America is a piece of that land. They are not it. I've already accepted that nobody's going to change the term "American" because any alternative would be too long. But being part of the continent(s) but not the country makes me annoyed everytime someone refers to it as America.
