So, perhaps, SE could make it so my primary language leads me to the page closest to it, which in this case would be the UK Lodestone? Is this too much asked? No.

Which would make them check every country in the world and calculate the distance to the nearest country they support.

Or rewrite the whole site and separate all the pages into standalone versions. Which is a lot less optimal management and/or performance wise. Basically, this is a fine example of stupid/lazy human behavior making other people dumb things down to accommodate the masses.

It's merely just another of the reasons to take my money elsewhere. SE isn't going to laugh, that's for damn sure.

Every other developer manages this just fine. If SE can't manage it they have no business being in the industry.

I've never come across a game that doesn't have everything necessary for the game to run included in the installation process. That's the common procedure and not being able to provide it makes the company in question incompetent.

The problem is on SE's side when they aren't getting a dime from me for providing service that doesn't meet the standards of the industry.

The issue here is that even people using languages tied to countries which fall under the "EU" region are not redirected to the proper EU website. That's about it.

SE can solve that easily, it is just a matter of filtering.

Italian, Spanish, Romanian are all recognized for EU. Portuguese isn't (PT and not PT-BR). That is something SE needs to fix on their end.

A random Portuguese customer, living in Europe, should be redirected to the EU website. That makes sense, since he will be billed in Euros after all.

What is your point tho? Stepping into a conversation, putting in a useless comment to defend someone? Are you in love with him? Even if i dont agree with Betelgeuzah in this point, he is usually a person which can speak for himself. Read what i said, learn to understand my opinion, read between the lines and maybe you will get it.

The point of my post was generally to point out you not getting the point. It has nothing to do with my particular feelings for any poster. I've had my fair share of differences with Betelgeuzah's opinions.

See now though you're getting defensive and taking shots at me based on some kind of assumptions on your part which makes me think you've really got nothing left in your argument.

I did read what you said, you were saying that there are situations in which one may have to go out of their way to get things to work. And as I said, that's not the point. The point is that the player shouldn't be forced to. When Borderlands came out for the PC I had to open up some ports to get the online to work right. I had no problem with doing that but it doesn't change the fact that the player shouldn't have to go out of their way to make a game work, or in this case a web page display properly for their region.

Like I said, providing everything needed for the game to run is the common procedure and not being able to provide it makes the company in question incompetent. Battlefield3 is the prime example of just that.

Just because SE isn't alone in their bungling doesn't make it any more acceptable. Dice and EA got a lot of crap for their horrible mismanagement of the product and rightfully so. At least when the game actually worked it was very good according to any standard, a luxury that SE doesn't have here.
