Hair Clippings, please fix in next Update or SOMETHING!

Seriously, I know we all just "love" to put on that long hair and junk and then cringe as we have to stare at that "beautiful" hair clipping at the back of our clothes because, turns out, hair can just go through clothing like it's not even there.

Sorry to say but, I prefer short hair anyways so it doesn't effect me much. However it still urks me, really rubs me the wrong way. It maketh me very ANGRY. GRR!

Please fix devs, so everyone can look at their backsides proudly. Or whatever, just ignore the problem longer...I mean, does it even qaulify as a bug? You fix bugs right?

I feel like the only way they could really address this is by adding basic collision physics to long hair styles.

Yeah I figure something like that would work! And it should be absolutely easy to implament, cause they already added a bit of physics to the hair, they just need to put some kinda...well what you said.

Like a tiny "barrier" between objects

I'm not sure how easy it is to do. I would really like for it to be introduced, as my character generally has long hair which goes straight through the collars.
I think that if they where going to fix this, its would have been done by now :-(

    Obligatory comment about "system limitations".

Even if they did add basic collision physics to hair, it has to go 'somewhere'. When you add a brick wall to the clothing, and then of course the body, first thing its going to want to do is find the path of least resistance, straight out the side or up (or mangle itself into a pixel ball). So to make that look natural they'd probably have to add more joints, increasing cost in performance. Then of course if you add this to each character out there, that probably would be valid use of 'system limitations', although more on the users end.

If they can't even get themselves to give slightly altered looks to clothes for tails, I doubt this even crosses their mind for the 'to do' list.

This exactly. Mesh collision and self collision on hair has a habit of "going bonkers". When the hair tries to settle down after movement it can do that in wildly differentiating results aka twitchy hair syndrome.

Tera fixed hair clipping in a clever manner. If your character equipped a long collar jacket for example, your characters long hair would show as tied up version of the same hair mesh.

Edit: I'm sure talented people at S-E could work something out eventually. I have gear sets with long collars and i have to adjust my hair style with that

Well with real hair wouldn't you improvise by tucking it under the collar into the back of the cloathing?
But if we're talking anime, then wouldn't a super thin like barrier of some sort just put it between the hair and the collar, add a bit of physics and shouldn't that work?

Idk why im asking you but, well it is a discussion, my knowledge on game physics is lacking but I do know when certain physics are already implemented to confidentially say "it couldn't be that hard" from THEIR standpoint. Cause for me...it's crybaby hard

It is entirely doable, a good example is Conan Exiles. Complete hair physics there, including occasional mangled pixels. The difference there is a limited number of players on the screen at a time. In a MMO, with a lot more going on, its going to tax the system a lot faster. That's about as detailed as I can get, as I'm not gonna pose as some professional, I'm still a student in the field myself. Just basically it actually is a matter of limitations, twitchy hair aside.
