While I usually try not to let myself go down these rabbit holes, I have to agree. Once is funny, but at a certain point - especially when it's added to new content and not just a reference to older meme content - it feels insulting.

I'm genuinely interested in the Ivalice storyline, and they touted "a longer questline" but then make the length all pertain to a gag fetch quest that has nothing to do with Ivalice.

I'm not against fetch quests, as some people seem to think this thread implies. I like fetch quests that make sense in relation to their place in the story. "Go kill two creatures and cook them so that you can feed/give heart to your soldiers that are going into battle the next day" - that makes sense. "Go find a random no-name troupe member (side note: I'm going to start using "dramaturge" instead of "drama llama" now) and fetch for them a bottle of wine that costs millions of gil at no cost to the NPC so you can stay busy while the adults discuss plot and lore and zodiac stones" does not.
