Overlapping or clipping furnishings may be permanently deleted

    From the patch notes:
    "Known Issues:
An issue wherein placing a tabletop aquarium on top of another furnishing and then repositioning that furnishing allows the aquarium to clip through other aquariums.
    * We strongly advise all players to avoid trying to replicate this issue. All furnishings, including aquariums, that are overlapping or clipping may be permanently deleted when the fix for this issue is implemented."

So, SE is considering deleting 95% of player placed furnishings, because twelve forbid people stack aquariums?

Don't do it SE. Worst idea in the history of bad ideas.

I wouldn't call it an issue but "a feature". SE should leave it the way it is, it's not gamebreaking and gives people more freedom to exploit their creativity. The system as intended is very restrictive, and they should see what the players are doing and add these functions instead.

Honestly? I hope they're prepared for an influx of very strongly worded salt and valid anger thrown their way when expensive housing items just start poofing out of people's houses or apartments, should this be a real thing that will happen and not just an attempt at deterring people from using furniture clipping or glitches by way of a vague threat.

Even JP players regularly exploit many housing glitches to create beautiful designs in their home. At this point it's more a feature than a bug - that its only now being treated as some kind of bug they need "preventative measures" for is ridiculous.

Ah... I was under the impression that the fix was to specifically prevent aquarium stacking. If this applies to everything, I'd be quite upset.

It may be possible that the way to fix this, is to remove the clipping entirely. (Which honestly, I'd rather have the 1 aquarium limit remain at that point).

They haven't said what it does exactly, but the only reason I can honestly think of for a restriction like this is that stacking Aquariums causes problems. Hopefully, if they go through with this as stated, that they at least tell us what it did when that happens. Though I imagine there is always gonna be that one person that decides to do it anyway just to see what happens.

I've read elsewhere that other translations of the patchnotes make it clear this is only referencing items that are overlapping with the aquariums themselves, probably has to do with the specific aquarium glitch they mentioned in the patch notes earlier.

    * This update will be included in Patch 4.3, but due a critical issue, the number of aquariums will temporarily be limited to four per estate. Players will be informed when the issue has been resolved. Details are included in the Known Issues section. We thank you for your understanding and cooperation.

Hm, the only thing I can think of is that they're worried people will create super-aquariums with 20+ fish by placing multiple aquariums in the exact same spot (who cares?). Im not sure what else they could be talking about that isnt already the case with every other tabletop or wall mounted furnishing.

They really should clarify that. The way its worded it sounds like they're threatening to delete a lot of peoples entire homes.

Seriously SE? Like most other active interior designers I've clipped things everywhere to make the best use of space. My stuff is hardly outrageous and game breaking and now because you're worried about people stacking fish to the sky I have to take my house apart. Please define what might be impacted further. Is it okay for for my bookshelves to overlap a bit? My partitions to sink into the walls somewhat. My furnishings to dip into pillars in some places or will all that be deleted?

Eh, I don't think whether you're a mega housing enthusiast or just a budding interior designer should matter. No one likes or at least, should like their own stuff that they have either paid gil for or spent time and materials in crafting it themselves, just disappear or be deleted without proper compensation. It is SE's game and they are free to expose and say that they don't care for housing glitches or clipping issues over certain things, however, just don't blindly delete stuff from people's house without giving them an option to get said item back or at least recoup the costs and time.

That's just stirring the pot of discontent for no other reason than just stirring it up. And since it's housing, that pot has been on a slow simmer for a long time already. Do we really need another overflow upstart again, SE?
