PLEASE consider making AF3 gear dyable much earlier!

Just so you know, AF3 = lvl 70 artifact gear.

Call me simpleminded, but I quite like the artifact gears because of their iconic Final Fantasy look and almost always uses them as my default glamour. This includes tweaking them a little via dyes to make them even more awesome.

However, in order to make ONE set of the AF3 gear dyable, you have to upgrade it FOUR TIMES, and for that you need 3000 protean crystals and 750 anemos crystals. This is not taking the weapons into account, JUST the armor/clothing.

In a game that prides itself on its feature to let you play as all jobs on one character and glamour end-game this doesn't make any sense considering the previous AF sets only needed to be upgraded once in order to be dyable. I have nine combat jobs at lvl 70, the rest at 60, and I plan to get those to 70 as well, which means in order to make all gear sets dyable I'll need 45 000 protean crystals and 11 250 anemos crystals. That's insane! I understand needing that many crystals to get the stats and five materia slots, but JUST for glamour? If this continues, what about the inevitable AF4 gear, what ridiculous grind awaits if you want THAT dyable?

Stop this madness before it's too late.

First of all, you can edit your post to bypass the 1000 character limit. Asinine, but it works... so ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Secondly, I think they do it this way because they KNOW people will want to dye the gear. And they know people aren't a fan of Eureka. So lock it into that, and make them farm it, and you're keeping the content alive longer. At least, that's my theory as to what they think anyway.

As I'm sure you are well aware, it takes more than one person to be able to kick a player from a duty, so in all those instances there were at least two people agreeing they'd be better off without you tanking.

I honestly wanted this over the glow for them. Most my weapons for glamour I never have the glow. Because I prefer most weapons without it. Heck being able to add glow effects to other weapons would be nice.

The relic armor is fine the way it is. I have no problem getting the crystals to upgrade the gear it doesn't really take that much effort.

I'm sure at some point they'll nerf (like they do with all relics) the number of crystals needed to upgrade the weapons and armor.

They never made dying AF gear a simple thing. Back in the good old 2.0 days you needed to CRAFT augmented versions of the AF to dye. Compared to then its a cake walk.

It's 4300 Proteans, 750 Anemos, and 3 Feathers. Assuming a rate of 500 Anemos per 3 hour instance, and at least one Pazuzu during that time. You only need about 5 instances. 2500 Anemos - 750 for the final upgrade leaves about 1750 Anemos. Assuming a 1 to 3 conversion rate, that's 4250 Protean, 750 Anemos and 3 Feathers. Considering it's more like 3.5 Protean per Anemos, you're actually looking at 6125 Proteans, which gives you a little gain into your next set. 15 hours of effort for not only weapon, but also armor, blows away most of the previous SINGLE steps in Relic, let alone four consecutive upgrades. It's fine as is.

To upgrade the HW AF sets once, you had to Savage to upgrade three pieces per week if the game really liked you; otherwise you had to Savage every week for a month to upgrade two pieces. If you didn't Savage, you had to wait a major patch number, then you could upgrade one piece per week by doing Alliance Raids, or you could religiously do hunts for 3,000 Centurio seals per piece.

And let's not forget that the antiquated versions were bought with cap tomes, so it would take seven weeks just to get the base pieces, and you could just forget about getting pure-glamour dyable AF gear for any job that wasn't your main or second-mainish.

The current AF sets are pretty generous, and don't need nerfing.

I don't mind having to work for it, but I really hope that future upgrade stages (assuming the AF gear will continue to be upgraded) have different dye patterns. Out of the entire White Mage set, I only really like how the gloves dye...I'd really, really like a version that keeps the iconic red trim red.
