I dare you not to sell anything to them.Don't let me catch you using the AH or buying from the item search menu.
No, you get to go search for the retainer, go to the correct ward, get placed on the opposite end of the retainer your looking for, buy your gear/item, then rinse and repeat till you have everything you need.
I'll just buy from the search menu and buy a complete set of gear while your still buying you first piece. I mean it, I don't want to catch you buying from the menu since you like the MW so much, you wouldn't want to be a hypocrite would you?
I still can't believe they went with MW over an AH. What was Tanaka thinking.
i would laugh if OP couldn't sell or buy nothing from the new market search system on his server, because he has warned every1 not to use it.
(also i believe we are getting a new market search system with the ability to buy direct from the search counter, not an auction house)
What I have shown you is reality. What you remember, that is the illusion.
People can do whatever they want. Even if they liked the MW over the AH they do what they want and it won't matter if there's hater threads.
Meh, Auction House, Market Wards...
Personally, I think it'd just be easier to set up player shops in your own house (see this thread I made for an explanation) and have other people be able to purchase items directly from them and/or visit them as well. Of course, we don't have personal housing yet, but seeing how the devs want to instance a lot of things, it might be easier to do it that way, rather than (if they do it like FF11) set up a public auction house in each town that don't interact with those from the other towns, and then end up having a crapload of people in one spot bogging down the already lackluster servers. Most of the game's current economy is rooted in Ul'dah anyway, and having localized AH's would only exacerbate this issue and isolate the availability of items.
Of course, we haven't seen any new patch notes on how they even plan on doing any of this, so it's all speculation at this point...But I do agree that the current Market Wards system needs to be overhauled. I hate having to go through a series of menus every time I want to find one item, which may or may not be under the category I think it belongs to...
speaking of vengeance...
lol good point OP
lol OP doesn't really know what the word Auction means, does he?
We are getting improved MW in 1.20 with the ability to buy directly from the menu. We are not getting an AH, and thank god. I don't want to bid on items, its a waste of time.
It will ultimately be a AH in the end when 2.0 arrives. Sorry to burst your bubble. It's just becoming more Auction Housey as they move along patches.
Honestly, one of the slight blessings of the market ward system that nobody ever considers is the alleviation of a lot of lag. In every MMO out there that possesses an auction house system you always have a massive swarm of characters camping the auction house. No matter what time of day you go by it, there will be hundreds of people sitting there (since barely hundreds play FF14 on besaid server at the same time on ff14, that number is obviously scaled down proportionately).
Honestly, there isnt much threat to this game. Every player on the server could go stand in uldah and it wouldnt slow down that much, cuz there just isnt that many people playing the game anymore. But if the game ever gets a sizable player base back, it's going to have the same annoying issue where going to the auction house results in a drop to your FPS.
Don't get me wrong, i support the ability to shop from the menu... But this was one benefit the wards actually gave to us.
