It was a solid group. Had some scary moments of course but we got lucky alot. Now we been through thick and thin and on the FINAL FLOOR the tank starts going Sonic speed. Why idk, I told him to slow down. Anyways, everything goes well, we kill the mobs and we find the exit. Two enemies are there, and he double pulls, one enemy sucks a player in and the other does a WIDE AoE around him. So ofc, I get pulled in has the other enemy was casting his huge AoE and I die (Note I'm the healer). So aggro goes haywire and we lose another DPS while they try to kill them. Somehow the tank and last DPS manage to kill the mobs. Just when I think it's over and all they gotta do is rez me with a feather, THE TANK OPENS A CHEST THAT TURNS INTO A MIMIC! they try to kill it, by try I mean the last DPS just stands there not doing anything after a couple of hits. She didn't try to vercure the tank or Limit break! Eventually the tank falls and so does she. meanwhile the exit was RIGHT. There.
Note: this was a Deep palace run, so it was floor 199

Skalla run:
The tank rushes the whole time. Does not wait for people with bosses and decides to use a really big pull (without any hint before) in the middle of the dungeon. The healer and I (mage DD) were still behind because of the chest, yet they still run through all the monster to pull them all and just spam LB in chat. I try to get there but its the part where those stone monsters attack after being aggroed so we have to avoid them too. I use the LB but it was too late and the tank dies. They make a snide remark about keeping up where I point out that we had to avoid those monsters...(and they could have simply waited or said that they are doing that) and the tank says that we should just stop aggroing them then..while she was the one that did it and seemingly forget that it takes them a short time to start their attacks..
We go forward without any more wipes and she left with the comment of: Well that was painful.
Its really funny since it would have been a better run if she could just wait a few seconds. Dont run ahead into a mass of monsters if not even the healer is near you..
Letter from the Producer LIVE Part IX Q&A Summary (10/30/2013)
Q: Will there be any maintenance fees or other costs for housing, besides the cost of the land and house?
A: In older MMOs, such as Ultima Online, there was a house maintenance fee you had to pay weekly, but in FFXIV: ARR we decided against this system. Similarly, these older MMOs also had a system where your house would break down if you didn’t log in after a while in order to have you continue your subscription, but this is a thing of the past and we won't have any system like that.

Party Finder story.
I need to clear Seph Ex so my fc friend and I put up a first time party. I clearly marked it as "First time bonus. I've watched a vid. I have a helper but need more help." We get one group who wipes twice and everyone leaves. No one says a word, no one gives help. Fine.
Second group, we died because someone moved to the safe zone with us when they shouldn't have and it killed a bunch of us. Second time, we survived that, I did the tower mechanics properly but the aoe healing seemed to be lacking and I think that's what killed me. I'm not sure. No one was saying anything in chat. A LOT of us died, not just me. All who were left was my tank friend, the PLD, a healer, and one dps (and we went in with a full party).
They left me (and everyone else) dead. Annoying but 100% understandable as the boss was at 5% or so when it happened. When it ended, and I "cleared" it, I said thank you.
PLD: your welcome
PLD: for the carry
Me: wow
PLD: no joke
Me: :-/
PLD: yall didnt know wtf you were doing in there
(note: not ONCE did they give any help or suggestions. Not ONCE did they say anything in party chat until this).
Me: aren't you a ray of sunshine?
Tank friend: I sure did
Me: You joined a party knowing full well it was a first time run. Go be a bitter tart somewhere else.
PLD: not bitter dude. you got carried.
*kicked from party and blacklisted*
The party finder clearly stated I was doing a first time clear. I had watched the video a couple of times, INCLUDING just before putting up the party finder. I did the mechanics I knew correctly, as far as I could see. It wasn't JUST me who died and I didn't die right at the beginning or continuously.
This person went into a party knowing full well it wasn't a farm party, it wasn't a WT party. The fight goes by FAST. You skip a lot of mechanics and it's hard to tell exactly which ones are coming up.
Just makes me so angry. I did my best, that's all I can ask of myself. I wasn't asking for a carry, I wasn't trying to be carried. I was trying to do the mechanics as best I could. If I did something wrong, then after the first wipe would have been the moment to say "hey, you need to do this."
Otherwise, pull that stick out of your butt or don't join parties CLEARLY marked as first time bonus parties.
Canadian, eh!"When someone told me I live in a fantasy land, I nearly fell off my unicorn"
Had a run on brayflox. Tank was new and a warrior. Initially forgot tank stance and also wasn’t using overpower so struggled with aggro until this was pointed out. They also insisted on killing every monster (literally every monster - I guess they wanted the experience) and going to every area of the map - it took ages to finish![]()

Dancer is a physical hybrid melee/range class, not a true ranged class. I love it.

So here's my scream rant to share. - I was doing sigmascape today - V3 (Guardian - normal) - Now I always make an effort to knock these out because the population tends to be very decent overall in terms of talent. Not today.
I was Red Mage - thankfully.
This party had a pair of white mages. Only one of which was actually doing anything. The first one for the entirity of the nightmare was doing the job of both white mages.
While the other (A mentor mind you) was just standing there like a fool doing nothing other than stone attacks and not paying attention to what was going on around him/her/it.
We wiped 3 times because this white mage refused to handle the chakra mechanics/biblotaph phases where you have to "stand on the buttons" which lead to disastrous results.
And if that wasn't enough - the entire party was blind-deaf-dumb-stupid to this fact....they accused the other white mage of being bad - never mind the fact the other white mage kept dying repeatedly <with me ver-raising a dozen times over>.
The white mage would die every 15-30 seconds...and i'd ver-raise back up again...and again...and again...and again.
I fail to understand how a MENTOR of all people would not even know simple mechanics like this...and would just stupidly stand there and not look around them.
Even a newbie...would have sense enough to look where/what people are doing and go "oh..maybe I should move my ass and get going right? Maybe I should help heal the party?"
I don't understand how people do this...yet..they do.
Ugh.
To the healer who pulled his weight - you did a absolutely great job...you didn't deserve the smacktalk...it was never your fault.
To the other healer - don't bother coming back until you learn to white mage and mechanics.
Yes I was mouthy...but you're a Mentor...you have NO excuse.
Sadly, considering how braindead easy it is to get Mentor status...it doesn't surprise me. They really do need a test for when someone applies to be a mentor. Something that throws a crap ton of mechanics at them, and they need to pass with a 95% success rate(for all three combat roles!). Things like knowing when to stun, what to Esuna, when to stack, when to spread, etc(if the NPCs in job quests can do it, a mentor damn well better be able to!).
