Don't hold your breath. Unless of course this gets outside attention like a negative article in the press. However, since much of the industry, and sadly many players too, seem absolutely delighted with in-game currencies, dlc, and all the other ways we are now 'monetized', I don't see that happening.

Do a search for 'in-game currencies' and you'll throw up a lot of businesses offering game-companies their expertise in wringing as much cash out of their customers as possible. There is big money in charging for premium services and offering packages of 'currency' to purchase extra services in games.
You also have to factor in that the response from Japan seems to be very positive.

The matter is not an officiel answer, but an official act toward it.
Yoshida knows how to speak... lets see with housing in 4.1, forum in fire he just said "sorry, we will try to do better" then said "we reworked the selling system" in fact they did what the player did suggest (1 house per account) and silly random timer to buy an house recently left and... thats all.
Ok, but what about the housing was a 3 year old problem? "sorry" he said, after 3 silent years, after 2 years with no house added...

for yoshida there will be simple mathematics :
1) how much customers will we lose, how much money we will lose with those customers (because a customer that only pay his sub is less important than one that buy everything new in cash shop...)
2) how much are we getting with this premium app?

all about payment over the base subscription will be consider this way. The same way most "big" game companies are doing.
Just watch how they take care about customers with FFXV...

I hope they realize the people that come and sub on this game are in many cases the runaways from other games with p2w and excessive micro-transactions. I don't pay for servers, that is your investment, make a different business model if you have to. I pay a sub to keep p2w and micro-transactions off the table.

Honestly, it's this, or sub increases for everyone. I'd rather the ability to choose to pay more than be forced to, wouldn't you? The price of a sub for an mmo has been static for more than 20 years, I don't think anything else has ever remained the same price for that long.
