Then it's the Dunesfolk I hate. Point is. They're still Lalas, and until you look at their eyes you can't exactly tell which they are.

Oooh, list time.

1. Lalafell emotes tend to be incredibly obnoxious and their players take advantage of it. WAI! WAI! WAIWAIWAIWAI! *lies on the ground with butt sticking in air in dead pose in a set of couerl briefs*
2. Lalafells have no lore whatsover. FFXI had the taru as the magical race in charge of their own nation, who were in an alliance with the mithra. Lalafells are just...there, except in Uldah.
3. And in Uldah, many lala NPCs are downright evil, or ineffectual.
4. Same problem with the tarutaru, lala are essentially a cute chibi race but in a fairly realistic fantasy MMO. They kind of grate a bit, and even in anime you don't really see the same contrast done well.
5. Lala players...well there are enough oddballs that they tar the race some.

Personally it feels more like people hate Miqo'te just because many people enjoy playing as a Miqo'te character. There are many Lalafell jokes, but they are nothing more than jokes. But the people who don't like the Anime-like races are generally very loud.

The drg and lalafell stuff got imported by XI players where drgs were/are useless if they didn't have their pet out in that game. Same with the whole lalafell being potatoes. They're based off the tarutaru race and people started calling them potatoes so it just transfered. Then there is the whole oh hey the thing I wanted dropped after the Lala/tarutaru died so now they need to die again so that more of that item drops. They've turned into memes at this point and aren't said by many as something mean. That and then there's the whole lala's are pervs because when you're the only race that can look up someone's skirt due to the whole height difference even if you don't mean to be. There's also the people who don't like Lala's because to them their body portions aren't to their liking.
