New 12 dollar emote should have been a Eureka reward!

Thought you were gonna say it should have been applied to all characters on an account. Well they aren't gonna give everything away. Some stuff only gets greenlit because it's going on the cash shop and increasing profits. If they stopped doing a cash shop, there would just be less items created, those items wouldn't be redirected to free unlock but rather wouldn't exist at all because they couldn't justify the resources if it doesn't earn more.

I just don't see how they justify $12 for an emote, which costs almost as much as a monthly subscription. I can see $3 -$5 for emotes and $5 - $10 for mounts.... these prices are insane especially for a pay to play game.

.. they.. don't... need to. If you want it, you buy it. If you don't, you don't buy it. If nobody buys it, it goes on "sale". If people buy it then it's worth the money for those people. And no they're not insane, people blow more money on crappy fast food which is an all of 30-40 minute experience VS something you can use over and over until you stop playing the game. I've seen people drink a shot of alcohol for 100+ dollars because it's old, NOTHING of that experience remains later. I've seen people throw money at other people because they're attractive and HOPING that the person will pay attention to them. 12 dollars is so very minor in the sea of things you can pay to experience.

How does Square-Enix have all this time to add things to the mog station but they can't even fix my retainer bug where I can't even see my XX/175 text?

There's so much other things that need work besides adding new things to the money store.

If would be anywhere in-game then it should be a trade in for 5 - 10 UCoB Totems.

they've mentioned several times the people developing cash shop items is a separate team.
to be totally honest S-E seems to be run so backwards cash shop purchases may be fully siphoned away and not go back into ffxiv development at all

so to quote others "buy it if you want" cause it doesn't really matter either way

Every time something new pops in mogstation and we have such posts. And it boggles my mind cause you don't need to buy this - it's optional but it feels like just because it exists you must have it in most comfortable way possible for you.

If they deemed this emote costs 12$ so be it. If my most amazing wish ever was for my character to shoot megaflare everywhere I want, then I will slap the 12$ in a heart beat. But it's okay, you don't have to have everything the mogstation offers.

The emotes and glamour are put into the Mog Station because they are a requested item however they don't want the entire playerbase to have access to them.

To limit the amount of players that have access to scion gear or a unique overblown emote, they set the price high so only those that really want it will buy it.

The emotes and glamour are more like a means of showing extra support towards the game, not something that's designed to be implemented into the game itself but a unique little extra that players can purchase if they want to.

Basically, these items would never exist in the first place if the Mog Station didn't exist, they exist because of the Mog Station otherwise SE wouldn't introduce those type of emotes.

I find 12 expensive too for just an emote so I simply don't buy ... problem?

Proud to say that I've only bought a single mount from the cash shop (nothing else) and my account is since 2014.
