What do you when bored? Suggestions please.

Someone in my FC recently had the idea to give us a little riddle and I liked that so much that I'm now spending quite a bit of time myself creating riddles for the FC!
I always liked the riddle-type quests in the game and was quite dissappointed that we never got such a good one as the ARR-one again. But I can understand that riddles are a lot of work and that probably not enough (or a lot) people did that quest to begin with...
But hey, if the devs dont give you the content you like - try and make it yourself! ;D
(It would honestly be great to get some tools for this type of thing - like being able to leave notes or something in the world... give NPCs lines of textes... I know that thats not possible, but a girl can dream! Right now I'm trying to find ways to work around that to be able to do more complexe riddles... keeps you quite busy and I enjoy it very much - I just hope my FC does aswell!)

Firstly this isn’t a complaining post I’m just curious as to what others do when they get bored of playing this game. Could anyone recommend some other MMO’s like this one?

I can't think of one I can reccomend which is LIKE this one but I can reccomend ESO it's fun, and does a lot right that FFXIV does not. I still think FFXIV is a better game overall but ESO is more modern and forward thinking.

This is only my second mmo and the only one currently I care about... when bored I either play another game or I go do totally non gaming stuff... hiking, biking, martial arts, gardening, cooking, art.... all great breaks from games in general

I'm so disappointed that there aren't many tab targeting MMO out there any more. Im hopefully going to try ESO tonight. Still waiting for Bless Online to try out. Not massively into action combat for my MMO BUT I guess that's what the majority want.

I read or write stories, I play other games, and I sometimes go for random walks or bike rides to random places.

No other MMO on the market currently interests me. So, my MMO addiction simply isn't fed when I'm away from FFXIV.

The more research I do to find another game the more I realise the ending. The reason I can't find another MMO is because I've already found the one I'm likely to enjoy the most. Damn lol.

I find non tab targeting to be much more fun and less painful (tab targeting is frustrating when it targets that mob across the room when you need it to target the one RIGHT in front of you) in ESO you just point and attack, it's elegant. it does mean people can literally block your attacks by standing in between you and the enemy, but isn't that more realistic?

Blade and Soul. Even if action MMOs aren't quite your thing, it's worth going through the main story questline once just to experience it and see some of the stunning environments the world has to offer. It's very much a story about you, your journey, and your growth. Fantastic villain, fantastic storytelling. The final quest honestly left me a little misty-eyed.

Downside is the endgame and some gaps between story quests are very much a grind. A much more enjoyable grind than Eureka mind, but a grind nonetheless.

I'm downloading it now. I was part of the original Alpha and Beta tests way back when and for multiple reasons didn't figure it was worth my subscription money. I know they've changed a lot and resolved some of the things I didn't like. With it now being the buy to play I figure this is a good time to see if it might make a good alternative to FF XIV when I need something different for a while.

You automatically scale to mobs in world and dungeon content now, so level doesn't really matter as much as in other games which is really cool and allows friends who have been playing a long time to do more with new friends.
