I actually made it to level 5. I'm probably around 15-20% through it too. I took people's advice to do the bears with a party.
Then I got to math I'd need to kill 200 bears, at 30 seconds a bear with the party, so almost 2 hours, just for level 6.

Relics were never made to be for Savage. It's casual content, not raid content, and they don't want it to be used as an excuse to keep people from raiding hence the low levels to begin with. All relics are is over glorified glamours. From ARR to HW. SB will be no different. Relics are never even BiS until the final patch before the next expac. This is nothing new and will never change. Relics are for gearing alt jobs and glamour. If they made relic gear any better than it already is, then nobody would raid as raid gear would be obsolete. Is this really their new method of doing the relic?
So far, after about 5hrs in this hell. I spent most of it healing. Anyone else try healing in there? I thought it would be fun. I even looked forward to it.
So, what have we learnt? You can, IF you can put up with the most boring and stupid grind in XIV, get the gear that you can one day meld 4 pieces of materia to...
Not, customise the weapons so the stats suit your play style. No, just meld, and dye... That's it...
It's only ilv 350, Savage gives 370... (I haven't started Savage yet, but I feel I could get a full set of my desired gear long before completing this hell)
I feel like this is the worst possible addition to XIV ever.
I said to my friends as we were just hitting level 3 "It's like they took a page out of those F2P MMO's"
Oh, and also, don't think for a second you can run off to one of those other Aetherytes and unlock them.. No no no, they're level locked...
Bad content, give me my relic

Ran it for a few hours, got to Lv4, 37 Proteans, and 6 Amenos & Lockboxes. Got an Orchestrion Roll and a Glamour from them among other things.
My only complaint with Eureka is we can't sell the lockbox glamour stuff :| Everything else is nice imo.
Guildmaster of Power With Numbers (PWN) on Coeurl in Aether.
I'll just hold on to my protean crystals and wait until the patch right before 5.0 when they drop the weapon requirements. I did get the Prince of Amenos minion from an NM and it is super cute and has Kraken Clubs as part of its idle animation.

Not necessarily a zerg if you stick to one area. If you're a higher level than the mobs, then it will feel like a zerg since you'll kill them all pretty quick with AoE's. Once you start fighting monsters 3-4 levels higher than you (impossible solo), then you'll be fighting one-two at a time. They hurt.So far I've had fun. Been soloing for bout an hour and a half now. Half way to level 4 with a handful of protean, explored the map a bit, got 1 shot by random mooneye a couple times. All in all I think its content that I can enjoy doing over a good chunk of time. Not really interested in joining the zerg to get everything asap.

I spent about 40m in a small group fighting mobs about 1-2 levels above us, we managed pretty well and I gained a level and about 10 protean for my time. All in all was fun. We wiped once when we tried to go a level higher than what we were doing which was a humorous death dash as we all tried to run when the tank died. They hurt.

Despite my initial lack of appreciation for this mode (which I commented), I will admit I had a bit of fun when I went with my FC members compared to when I tried solo and pugs.

At first I wasn't going to go near Eureka because I lost interest in it after it got delayed multiple times, but curiosity got the best of me, so I decided to give it a try. I went inside solo which that was silly of me because of course it wasn't going to be easy grinding those mobs alone; luckily, I got pulled into a friendly group. I say about a nearly an hour later, I was already tired of it. As of right now, I'm mentally worn out from having to eliminate the same amount of mobs over and over again. Eureka is pretty much like Diadem except elements are important this time.
Kudos to the players who have the patience and sanity to spend hours grinding in Eureka. I hope you guys continue to have fun, but as for me, I don't think I'll be going back in there anytime soon..

It reminds me of level grinding in XI. (I never played XI in its heyday. The experiences I'm describing happened last summer when I was leveling solo with a Trust npc party to do story missions).
Find a spot with monsters a bit higher than me, pull one at a time and kill them with my party, attempt to CC or die and respawn if I accidentally aggroed too much.
At least in XI I could get regular boosts of exp from completing Fields/Grounds of Valour and Records of Eminence objectives while I grinded. Eureka felt painfully slow outside of the one Notorious Monster FATE I saw.
I think there's room to make it better by adding more objectives. As it stands I wonder how bad the original version they were working on must have been to have ended up with just this after so many delays.
The one thing I did enjoy was exploring the zone as a Ninja using Hide. It's a beautiful area. Also I noticed a few monster families could see through Hide which I believe is in reference to XI (Imps were one such family and I remember encountering True Sight Imps fairly often in XI).
