For the small amount of time I spent in there (close to level 4), I think they need to have a few more objectives in there. Currently it's just kill mobs and that gets boring very fast. The only reason why I was able to continue grinding away was because I was distracted by talking to people via voice comms. The content itself should be fun while also being fun to do with friends. They should have had chain fates, daily quests and NM spawns more often. There is no way the development team was making this and tried it and thought "The players will like this". When in the past similar content the playerbase hated. If you create content and you believe it's not very good then chances are the players won't like it. There is no point in pushing it out in hopes people will like it. You should be able to play yourself as a developer and think "I enjoy doing this". The whole point of a game is to have some form of enjoyment and if you don't have that emotion when progressing in a particular content, then you have failed deliver on it on a development level.
As it currently stands I would call Eureka a failure on the level of Diadem. They repeated the same thing they did with Diadem v1.0. Where you just kill mobs, the only difference now is you level (at a snail's pace while also needing thousands of crystals) and have a wheel to play with which doesn't fundamentally change the way the content is played. They honestly need to go back to the drawing board with this piece of content because for 17 months of development I am honestly disappointed in what the development team has created. It's seems they focused so much on the zone and forgot what people would actually be doing. This was delayed so many times and in the end it's just grind mobs... so i don't see why it was delayed this far. I think Eureka really starts to show the flaw in FFXIV itemization scheme on how they can't make any meaningful items for the time spent getting it because people are not going to grind it for 5 materia slots and it being lower ilvl.
Personally for content like this I think it's finally time to implement test servers. I am tired of them releasing content and it always falling on it face due to simple faults anyone can see on a player level. They want content to be a surprise but content is never surprising if it's terrible. I would rather try out the content and give the developer's meaningful feedback on it so they can make the needed changes before it goes live.
