More players failing mechanics in SB MSQ trails?

Here lately, it seems like a lot more players are straight up either failing basic mechanics repeatedly, or trying to outright ignore them and hope for the best. Anybody else notice this happening a lot even in groups with no new players?

In Pool of Tribute, tanks seem to keep ignoring the orbs. Explanations always fall on deaf ears of course. I already know you're going to tell me, well, you should grab them as healer. I do whenever I can, but I can't always get them all if I don't have enough instant heals up to cover the ridiculous damage they do to non-tanks, or if I have to DPS hard to cover for low DPS groups. Lots of people either seem to run away with the stack marker or just sit there after getting knocked back too. Even had a BLM run away and end up killing several people after getting rescued back into the group.

Emanation: one word: VRIL. The amount of players who can't find the Duty Action button is just unbelievable. Most commonly they say they can't find it, or if they're on PS4, they don't know what buttons to push. Not a valid excuse considering its required before this point in the MSQ. I get it if they're new and nobody explains how to refill it, but if they know that and still fail 100% of the time, seriously?

Royal Menagerie: Surprisingly the least bad of the first three. Mostly just people getting overwhelmed by the amount of mechanics going on one after another and/or falling off repeatedly.

I haven't done the new one yet so can't say anything about that one so far.

That duty action button, I never could remember where it is on the controller and it's really not intuitive. I always have to look it up every time I do trials on PLD. And no I don't go in without first looking it up and it is such a hassle. The answer is usually in some forum somewhere else. Also the first time I came across it was in a MSQ that introduced it. Even then I couldn't get it to work without using the touch pad thing, which makes the process very slow and awkward. I only remember being frustrated from mashing the buttons it was telling me to use and won't work. And I'm probably not alone in this. So maybe this answers one of your mysteries. Damn, I'm gonna look it up again.

PS4 here. I think Lakshmi was the first place I encountered the duty action button. I had read about it, but at first I didn't know how to fire it. It gives a tool tip when you have the correct trigger pulled, but IMO the skill is not in a conspicuous location.

It's a trigger + a stick. I don't remember which one, but I remember now that I can just check the tool tip when I'm firing other skills.

this is so easy. I do it so fast on controller. I don't know how ppl fail doing this. in any case you can assign the "duty action" to your hot bar now anyways so you should be doing that if you have trouble with the original method.

Oh boy, if people are having trouble with the duty action button, good luck on a certain solo instance in 4.1.

That aside, people failing even the simplest mechanics is very common.

Played my free trial back in 2.1ish days and just came back for 4.0 (finished msq like 1 week before 4.1) and the answer is pretty simple.

All throughout the msq progression I was told the basics from friends but for the most part nothing was challenging in the slightest because better geared party members would just burn through mechanics because they can. At least as a healer if I botched some mechanic I didn\\'t know about it was basically a wipe and was informed on said mechanic (I remember doing Titan and asking the group where Titan went, I was in the middle of the room when he came back...). But anyway you basically burn through mechanics or ur group doesn\\'t care if u mess up because they can easily carry all the way up to storm

There\\\\'s also no real solution to this either because old content will always be burnable and new players will always get carried. Also I lost my leaf at the start of storm blood msq so I was doing all those dungeons and primal without my leaf.

Incorrect, the first time it is used is in the Kugane instance with the smoke bombs.
