Actually, now with Stormblood being released, it's confirmed that Ivalice is part of the world of FFXIV. In HW, it has been confirmed that moogles have different variants, "cousins" as they call it.Yes, but those aren't the moogles we have in this game. Even if they introduced the Ivalice based moogles as a race it wouldn't work out just because of the lore of XIV as Lemuria stated above. Unless they introduce the Ivalice based moogle as a whole other race separate from the moogles we have now, then it would make sense.
Wrong and wrong again. The 'Ivalice' in Othard is not the literal FFXII/FFT/FFTA world somehow plonked wholesale into Hydaelyn, it's like the Crystal Tower, Costa del Sol, Gold Saucer, Matoya's Cave and other places from previous FF games that have also appeared here in FFXIV - they're just references in name and theme only with Hydaelyn-specific lore. Hydaelyn's Ivalice does not even exist anymore, it's a country that is long destroyed.
And besides, SE themselves all but stated this outright: (yes this information was before the Return to Ivalice raid was added, but it is still appropriate):
And as for the moogles, they're not so much different 'variants' as more the ones in Moghome are the original tribe and the ones on the surface simply split from their society in the distant past (the story of Good King Moggle Mog the XIIth is actually at least partially true, it's a cultural memory of the moogles' diaspora). The two groups are not literally different - physically they're virtually the same, only their culture and naming differ. So that is not proof that FFXII/FFTA moogles can appear as a playable race here in FFXIV either. It's not going to happen.Originally Posted by Gildrien

Q: A lot of names from Ivalice have been mentioned such as Dalmasca, Belias, and Zodiak. Is there some kind of connection between Hydaelyn and Ivalice?
A: Maehiro: To be absolutely clear, there is no direct connection between FFXIV’s Hydaelyn and FFXII’s Ivalice or even FFXI’s Vana’diel. They are not the same world in different dimensions or time—they are their own separate worlds. However, there are certain connections to people or objects that appear in these other worlds that figure into the story of FFXIV as it has been conceived and is being told.
Yoshida: We’ll be revealing more as we move forward.
