At least it was free.
At least it was free.
Im sorry for your loss.. but same time, Ill have to admit. Im laughing. Cause I mean rushing and choosing "Free Company Relocation" >.<
Man these housing wars are getting crazy in the land of Shiro. Meanwhile us Goblet folk are chillin. ^^
Tho real advice.. next housing thing. Plan ahead of time... have someone around with you to scout and look out, etc. Planning makes everything much more smooth.
I had planned ahead but because of severe error 1016 after servers came on (about 10 minutes worth), the plot I had logged out in front of was bought in front of my eyes.
But I've never, ever dealt with the housing purchasing and relocation UI... so it was completely foreign and ended up doing this because of my inexperience with it.

Ah ok!
Yea that sucks.
One thing I did to help my new timers prep was those type of advice. Which menu option to use. Using the /busy tag in case of trade spam prevention, Be quick to login, live chat to track server status, and have extra money on hand in case SE had decided to "reset" the de-eval prices..
I lost my first choice house back when the new wards opened up, because I was absolutely paranoid of relocating the FC house. Why did they make those options so close???
For those who don't know what it looks like. The drop-down menu is like this
Purchase for private Individual
Purchase for Free Comapny
Relocate for Private Individual
Relocate for Free Company
When you transferred to the cottage was there a refund or was the cost just zero? I am curious.
when you relocate, you pay 30% of the MINIMUM price of the plot you're moving to. what you paid for the house you're moving out of has no bearing on the current plot.
When you relocate you pay the plot price minus 30% of the minimum price of the house you currently own/ are moving from. So, relocating from any mansion to any small would cost you no gil. (Minimum plot price of a grade 5 mansion is 19,840,000. 30% of that is 5,952,000. Most expensive small is 3,750,000. So, worst large to best small the server still owes you 2,202,000 gil.)
From the announcement about Shirogane and relocation.
"In the event reimbursement for the old plot exceeds the price of the destination plot, the cost of relocation will be waived. Please note, however, you will not receive gil for the amount that exceeds the cost of the destination plot."
So, it should have just been free with no refund.

When you relocate, you save 30% of the minimum purchase price of the plot your are relocating from. So, depending on the mansion’s plot grade, it could be 30% of 20~24 million gil that you save.
Here’s the list of the minimum devaluation for all mansions, with the 30% you will save in parentheses:
—Fifth Class: 19,840,000 (5,952,000)
—Fourth Class: 21,080,000 (6,324,000)
—Third Class: 22,320,000 (6,696,000)
—Second Class: 23,560,000 (7,068,000)
—First Class: 24,800,000 (7,440,000)

duly noted. i guess i never realised bc i always upgraded/moved to same size plot... lel at least it was free![]()
Yeah, sorry to hear that.
Our FC leader disabled FC relocation right as soon as we secured a mansion because we have no tangible reason to relocate.
Big panda is an awesome bear!
