Housing glamours are getting too "big".

A Mist house in the ward a friend lives in has had the view from their garden ruined due to the ridiculously high roof of a medium sized carbuncle house. It blocks out so much of the scenery. I don't know if it bothers the owner, but it would bother me immensely if it was my house.

I'm all for having loads of wacky or traditional skins, but in certain areas of some districts they can be a giant eyesore for surrounding neighbours. Not because they're not to my taste, but because they dominate the view far too much.

I totally agree. Some of the skins are ridiculously big. I used to have a nice mist med (plot 14) that slowly was surrounded by Carby / Choco skins. Five of them all around me. I finally had to demolish that house and move. After that I'd ONLY buy land if it was private, so I couldnt have neighbors with huge gaudy skins blocking beautiful views, like lavender beds 11/16/27/28/29, mist 30,shiro 16/28 etc.

Agreed. I love the Merchant walls. I would love to see more designs like that, and maybe some other varieties as well. Maybe something like a simple brick house, a log cabin...stuff like that. The Paissa/Chocobo/Carby houses are nice and all, but a bit overdone. I would like some more simplistic options as well, since that's more my taste than giant Moogle house.

I bought the house directly in front of/below my personal for this exact reason. I do not want someone putting an ugly wall in the way of my ocean view.

Yeah, I moved for exactly this reason. I loved my old Mist plot (9/39), and had been waffling over relocate, but then my neighbor in the medium below decided a giant shirogane castle was necessary.

It obliterated my view of the ward (which was nice before, b/c although I was as far from the beachfront as you could be in Mist, you could still see the water and the whole neighborhood... and had that neat little grassy area as well.) and cemented my decision. All of my neighbors seemed to agree as well.

I don't mind housing skins! It's a neat concept (though I do wish they'd add in more individual pieces for customization rather - the way we have exterior fixtures that can be used anywhere) or make house styles unrestricted to location at this point.

I love my carby house and given that I'm on Plot 28 in Shirogane I doubt I am blocking anyone's view. If anything i'm giving them cuteness to look at hopefully! But this is the exact reason why i wanted this spot. Its to the side. though i'd like to see the ocean more but thats only a small con

I have a carbuncle house, but I actually kind of hate the HOUSE part. It's a big ugly book theme that dyes terribly.
However I simply love the Door and the Carbuncles above my gate.

If I could get rid of the big ugly house and keep the individual elements, I would in a heart beat.
