unfinished game asking full price is unreasonable

i have been looking around for a while where does it say that?

Ok yes people WILL be jerks but the issue is, those of us, even myself with very little game play time, still keep up with what is occurring in the game. So, with that being said, here is the last Live Letter. Also, here is a link to Reinheart's Translation Thread the answer to your question is at the bottom. If you do not want to read the whole thing to get caught up on what IS going on, I copied and pasted for you below.

Edit: Btw, Reinheart takes time out of his day to translate not only these big Live events but also what the Japanese players are discussing so we can know what most players else where are thinking too. Take a little extra time to read and do a search before you make a thread that way, you don't get flamed.

That doesn't help much, they say Discount. But how much of a Discount? We talking 50%? 10%? This is why I hate SE they never are specific about anything. Everytime they get Interview they alway answer the obvious and they didn't answer as all.. We are thinking about it and may have plan for it in the future.

For the Discount it could have been only $2 dollar off. Bwahaha!

well they do it because final fantasy is their flagship its the game that put square soft/enix whichever on the map, their reputation aka future sales are on the line so you can bet they will try to bail it out

We're not paying for 2.0. We're paying for 1.x. Even if we all abandon the game and they get nary a sub, 2.0 will come out.

And the earnings losses SE has experienced isn't from XIV alone, 2010 wasn't a good year for the company. The difference between SE and every other company in the world is everyone else listens to their customers from the start, thus avoiding the need to back track and avoid multi-million dollar mistakes.

This attitude I keep seeing that we as consumers owe SE anything is absurd. They released a faulty product. They asked us to stick around. They decided to take two years and rebuild the game. Therefore, they chose to take the most costly route to fix an already costly mistake.

That said, I hope 1.20 is worth it. I'm glad we get to try it out before we pay. But that patch better impress the pants off a lot of people starting with being released in the time frame SE set for itself otherwise the servers will be ghost towns.

Cause we will never get a finished game if they cannot pay ppl to complete it. We got a free year, no need to be so unreasonable

I would be surprised if it wasn't 50% off; if you are math savvy (and I am sure the math wizards at SE HQ figured this out) they can make more money with half off subs having 90%-100% of the current player base paying for the game then they would if they didn't give a discount and have 60%-70% of the current player base paying.

All they ever said is that they could "consider" it, which is a far cry from flat out stating "you're getting a discount".
