If you really want to fix the housing, separate FC housing from Personal housing. Give each the same amount of plots/space they have now, dont divide what we have into two sections.

Alternately, simply putting a short delay window on transfers would work, too. Were I launching a new Housing district or new Wards, I would launch in three phases:
(1) FC purchase period (no transfers)
(2) FC pransfer / personal purchase period (no personal transfers)
(3) Fully unlocked for transfers / purchases
Also, I wouldn't view this as a 'punishment' for players with existing housing. They've purchased and enjoyed a house in a particular location or district, and they have every right to continue to enjoy it. If they want to relocate to new scenery, they should not receive an advantage over anyone else in terms of selection (which implicitly means in terms of price, too) - initially, anyway. After a short period of time, then they can be granted that discount to make things easier, at the cost of more limited selection.
PS - This problem really shouldn't be resolved through further restrictions on the Housing system. Are there small improvements to make? Sure. But the solution is more districts (Ishgard, please, and Ala Mhigo, and Doma) and more Wards. As long as there is significantly fewer houses of any type than people want, we'll have tension and stress. Build out the supply, SE.

It's meant to reward older players over new players I believe. If you've been playing a long time and actively trying to get a house, you could get one. I saw 2-3 plots open every week on my server (and that's just what I casually spotted from checking the aetheryte once in a while). Shirogane 1.0 EX was such a shitshow because of house flippers, and because we have all these people who've only been playing a couple months suddenly had the burning need to get in on the market (note: I knew many personally, and they would turn their nose up whenever I announced an empty plot because how dare you expect me to settle for this perfectly serviceable small). Why shouldn't the older (or less picky) house owners get better picks over someone that's only been around for a couple weeks? Yes in an ideal world everyone gets what they want (although I'm sure they'd still find something else the whine about - that it's not worth anything now that everyone can have it, probably), but idk. I find the biggest complaints about the wards/housing implementation itself come from younger peeps that've been playing less than a year.
Also, not everyone wants to move to the latest and greatest thing. I have planted roots in the Lavender Beds and I am not leaving unless they give me a syphic tree house![]()
Housing Plot Priority:
FCs
Owned House Transfers
New House Owners
Plain and simple. If you bought a house, you get priority over those who dont. Its Garbage if I bought a house in LB but wanted one in Shiro, but I have to give up my LB to potentially get a Shiro house. I could end up SoL with nothing, wasting the millions of Gil on the off chance of getting property I want. And I cant buy 2 houses with the new rules, so theres no guarantee.
Sucks for people buying in, sure, but the suggestion posted is to screw Older homeowners in favor of new buyers by making it more luck driven. Also, just as an aside, This is only an issue for people wanting 'specific' properties. The number of houses available doesnt change if people transfer plots. Only the availability of primo plots. If a guy goes from Uldah to Shiro, theres gonna be an ulda slot open up for purchase for a new buyer. They need to make the decision on whether they want that plot or try to get a shiro one. Theyre the NEW buyers, and have subsequently less to lose.

This part confuses me more then the TC's post since this does not happen with TC's proposal or in game?
I really hope you reply to this otherwise just seems troll. First of all, are you proposing they lose ALL the furnishings while need to pay for a plot again? If you are moving to large to large now, just for a relocation, it is like paying double. (you lose 42 million relocating a large to large, kinda insulting you have to pay another 42 million to relocate when you already paid 50 don't you think?) Then you want people lose 10-100 million gil in furnishings? walls etc on top of that? Do you even know how housing works? To claim it is just 4.5 million loss even with the system now???

I think you misread her proposal.
Its not about scrapping all the furniture and what not. Its about giving up your plot to 'upgrade' to another plot, and then putting your furnishings back in manually. The issue is the upgrade.
The initial proposal was for the original House owner (Person A), be required to give up their property, then try to compete with New House Owners (Person B) over a plot of land. The issue is that Person A has far more to lose than person B, as not only will they be giving up the initial housing investment, but they run the risk of not getting a house in the desired location, and not being able to get their old house back. Where Person B only has to worry about getting a desired house. Person A loses far more in this exchange. The proposed change would cost person A tons of Gil in property value. It would not cost person B anything. And the downside would be Person A may lose everything in this proposal if they fail to get their desired plot, and cant rebuy their old one. Person B gets a net gain. More chances at property, with no loss of value (as they had no property value to begin with.)
The OPs post is detrimental to house owners, but beneficial to new buyers. That wouldnt be fair.

At this point we've got to realize that housing will never be fair to everyone. The most recent changes will shut up homeless FCs and leave personal owners bitter. Maybe the next addition of wards will be personal only and we'll see FCs crying they can't upgrade and personal owners will shut up. For every small FC complaining medium and large homes shouldn't even be available to individuals, there will be individuals complaining a 4-person FC shouldn't even be able to purchase a home before them.
SE has done this to us, let's try to blame who's at fault here (the game) rather than others players just trying to get the housing they want.
I disagree -.- people will keep bitching no matter what. If they don't get it their way its a negative experience. People seem to forget that HOUSING is a an optional side of content. Housing is available and the only real problem to begin with are people who slacked off. Now I understand the whole one FC one personal housing which is fair and that was FC intent. I sue to flip FC for profits and really never had a problem finding housing ever since I flipped my first one. Problem is players are impatient, don;t think outside the box. There is a reason why there are leaders and followers in this world. Leaders think outside the box to make the rules work in their favor. We are creative, seek opportunities, and make sacrifices in RL. Followers are those who bitch and complain and wait to be given a trophy for trying. Eventually will find a home, however blaming a game for their short comings of not trying is just plain sad. We all pay a subscription, so we all started with the same chance. Now if you blame RL or timing that would be more on you. Excuses are not results and just like in the real world it takes time, commitment, and common sense. Not to offend anyone but near my main large home their are 2 plots still open.
